This instrumental has been sampled by hundreds of hip hop songs. Most notably the sound effect at 1:45 and the drum break beginning at 1:46.

Wayne Cochrane and the CC Riders was an albino rocker, appeared on the Jackie Gleason show (anyone remember that show?) Saw them play at the El Mo Combo tavern in Toronto, a total dump came out from backstage with a bottle of vodka and bottle of southern comfort filling our glasses as we were standing on our chairs. He has 6 members in his band that played great r & b music. Terrific show. His face was red with the whitest hair you ever seen. Few years late they appeared at a higher end tavern, the Bellaire, bloor and bay st. The room was decorated with real flowers on the rafters on the walls and while he was performing he tore all of them down on the floor. Never was allowed to perform there again. But the music was great.

I think I mentioned before that I saw her live at the club bluenote on Avenue & Dupont? in her later years, sitting very close to the stage, she came out wearing a light lavender colored dress. Sang her greatest hit, imo, At Last, finished wearing a very dark damp purple dress. She was terrific.
"Let the Music Play" will always be her jam but this was dope as well. Early freestyle sound.
