Wonderful film.

It's a shame that the star of the movie (the young man in this clip) is sitting in prison on a murder charge.

Wow. I didn't know that. Hopefully his crime wasn't influenced or motivated by his screen persona.

My niece and her husband were just starting out as teachers.
They asked me if I would lend them the down payment for a house.
Down payment, legal fees, yada, yada equals $100000.
They don't talk to me anymore.
No Christmas, Thanksgiving, birthday...calls at all.
I stopped by one time to visit. I know they were home but nobody answered the door.
I sat on the front porch and ordered pizza and wings.
I figured since I paid for the porch at least I should get some enjoyment out of it.
If it made them squirm, even better.
Now I wouldn't cross the street to piss on them if they were on fire.
It's not the money, but being lied to as if you were a fool.
Wow you lent a niece $100K? I can see parents doing that but not an uncle. I would never ask my aunt/uncle for that type of loan.

I could see it, but I'd want paperwork, perhaps my name on the deed.

I'm very fortunate to have the financial resources to do something like this.
And as I said it's not the cash hit that hurts as much as being taken for the fool.
In the end they lose. Cut out of the Will and any other help in the meanwhile.
For me it just confirms you can't really trust anyone when money is involved.
Remember also, these people are teaching your kids.:thumb:

I've given over 100K in the last ten years to family, received back about 75 just recently, give how much you can afford and maybe what you can afford to loose if someone doesn't end up paying you back, your not going to take family to court. Just be smart about it.

I lent this coworker just under a $100. We go to city together, I pay him gas $, I paid his lunch and bought some video game accessories at Hmv and a box set TV show. After 7-9 pay cheques later. He had problems selling his old games as the next gen was here. I finally got it all. With goddamñ help from our store boss. I was ready to sue his ass in small claims court with papers in hand. Sure I may need to pay 3x as the money that was own to me. But it's the principle of trust and "friendship" that's more valuable. So I after that agonizing wait. I got my $ and gave his shit back. How pathetic having the store boss pay the remaining amount with no interest. On pay days he blows his money on everything. ..gas,food,rent and DVD. Much later I found he was at money mart that was what killed his finances.
Friends never more and he got fired for doing shitty work.

Why would anybody lend money to anybody? A person who cannot manage his or her own finances is already a clear sign.

This lesson came too late for the Germans. Now the Greeks hate them (Germans) and they (Germans) lost all their money.
Hate them, while begging for help....

It's got a real "good money after bad" feel to it.
