I usually get by on 4-6 hours sleep. Then there is the one day in every eleven or twelve that I will sleep for 9 hours plus.

I can't remember the last time I actually had a full 8 hour sleep! That would be heaven.I always seem to wake up for some reason,to go pee, heard something,nightmare..........ahhhhhhhhhh 8 hours would be nice.No sleeping pills allowed, they just make you feel like you missed time with no actual quality sleep.

Some famous people like Donald Trump, Margaret Thachter, etc. get by on only 3 hours sleep. I need 7-8 hours to function properly.

Do you need more or less sleep as you get older? When I was attending university I was able to stay up all night on some nights, no more.

I used to go regularly with 5-6 hours a night.
Since I've lost weight and am eating better, I now get 7-8 hours a night and I feel great.
The eating, sleeping and weight loss all go hand in hand to make me feel better than I did for years.

Did the quarterly check in with the doc yesterday. Blood sugar is controlled, stone was the typical calcium type etc. Topic of sleep came up. She advised a minimum of 6 hours UNINTERRUPTED sleep in order to properly do the REM cycle. She said that I should aim for 8 hours, and that I should lose weight.

She also told me my prostate was fine.

The more you stay vertical, the shorter you get. Hence 6'4 Clint Eastwood is now down to 6 feet. But 6'4 David Hasselhoff and Tom Selleck have maintained their 6'4 height at their age, due to getting plenty of sleep. I'm getting 10 hours of sleep per day to maintain myself.
