I have always kept a direct comparison in mind. Gia is gorgeous, smart, sexy as hell, and offered a great session. She is a very high end SP. PaulaTRZ (retired darn it) was gorgeous, smart, sexy as hell, and offered a great session - for about 60% less. I repeated w Paula several times, have yet to see Gia again.

There is room for both ladies in my range of experience. I personally didn't feel a tangible difference between the two ladies. Admittedly there was a greater sense of excitement and anticipation w Gia because well for her price point I sort of fantasized that she was some sort of sexual genius who would teach me something. She didnt, but again, the session w Gia was great but no more memorable than a session w Paula !

I will continue from time to time venturing into the high end range. Anastazia's price point bounces around but the first time i saw her, it was a wild, really memorable session !

it's the same reason some guys pay $100 for a steak at Barbarians while others eat a Big Mac. It's the same reason, some guys drive $100k BMWs while others drive Hyundais. You can never go wrong with quality and the women who charge $400 and up - well, there is a reason for it

I have often wondered why anyone would pay $400 plus for an sp when there is a great selection of girls to choose from in the $200 to $300 range?

Teaseplease - I have highest respect for you in this board as you gave me a couple of good points during my initial days in the hobby.

But I have to disagree with you on this as except ivana of srm I havent met a consistent mp so far.

One session from a mp will be way over the top only for the next session to be the exact opposite of the previous session. I generally tip atleast 40 over the standard rate.

$300+ rates have nothing to do with quality. Often there isn't any difference between a $200 girl and a $400, that's their rate because that is what they want their rate to be. I don't have anything against those rates, but I'll never pay it and they definitely have nothing to do with quality. That's BS.

Only reason to pay that rate is if you want a less busy girl, if that's quality, then I guess it is but in terms of looks and service, nope.

Fair enough. I suppose a key difference is that extras are extra at an MP so you can't really complain about not getting blowjob.

higher cost > less customers > more fresh > some people don't like SPs working in assembly line > thus paying more justifies for them
How do you know that they have less customers ????

It seems to me the incentive to work harder becomes greater as they want to make money while they are young

I have no doubt you do. That's the beauty of a free market, everyone gets what they want ;). As far as I am concerned the ladies are free to charge w.e they want and cater to w.e client they want.
I actually dont think the hobby is a "free market", it is not nearly dynamic enough and the pricing scheme is too uniform/ rigged. There isn't enough market data or transparency either. Plus there are now lots of alternative markets, like sd/sb sites seekingarrangements, and cross services from mps and scs.

I often toy with the idea of building a company that does actually deploy free market principle and tactics . Here is an example... they say Tori at Cupids is impossible to book. Ok, lets start an auction! if she wants to work one day a week, maybe i would bid 500, 600 for a session instead of the shelf rate. Maybe someone would bid higher?

Lets say Tuesday night at 6 there are 85 Sps sitting around, all dolled up and ready to go, and there arent enough clients available to satisfy this supply. So prices should reflect that and that might entice more playa's to step up and fill in the market.

Lol. Certainly not.

I have my expectation set at MP limits when visiting an MPA.

in my experience your chances to get a safe GFE as opposed to "normal" GFE are higher if you pay close to or more than $400

For some people, dropping 400 for an hour isn't a huge deal. It's all relative. When you go to Vegas you don't need to gamble away fifty grand to have a good time, but some do cuz that's just how they roll. I think for the higher priced girls it's a function of 1) they're hotter across the board, not as much chance of getting someone who's not at all attractive 2) they have more worldly knowledge, aren't so ghetto 3) don't see so many clients 4) they figure clients out there somewhere are paying premium prices so why shouldn't it be them making that money. Some guys don't care about checking every single acronym off the list in a session as well. If you have the money to blow on all that then more power to you. Too rich for my blood but that doesn't mean shit in terms of what other people should do.

To put it in perspective, if you're an average employee making 50k a year, $400/hr will likely be unaffordable, but imagine the CEO of the company you work for who makes 500k a year, or 10 times as much as you? To that person, $400 is the equivalent of $40 to the guy making 50k a year, in other words, it's not that much.

You would think that lots of these VIP ladies are experienced enough to make a name when they are young, tap into that celebrity status they enjoyed go independent and well jack their price and cut their workload in half ... Sadly , these ladies hit 30's+. Still charging 2x as much and well frankly a new fresh model hits the agencies every month... I don't see the value there of a 800 2 hour minimum date... Like technology who wants an iPhone 3GS when there is a Samsung new model...

After having some terrible times with MP's, I had ventured into SP's for a couple of times.

I had seen five high end SP's charging $400 or more, and two SP's in the $ 250 dollar range.

Finally to end, whenever is step out of the High end SP's, I tend to have a satisifaction of 2 hours well spent, while coming out the $250 Sp's place I will be thinking how will I earn the $ 250 back.
Sample size. Seven?

yes and it is even more since the mediocre guy's income is consumed by basics. but you knew that.

Defining the courtesan basically comes down to this: "a prostitute with a courtly, wealthy, or upper-class clientele." (Courtesy of the Merriam Webster dictionary)
Most definitions of the term actually refer more to the status of the clientele, not of the lady.

I think these days the term has come to mean something different to those who use it, ie someone who provides an experience above and beyond that which is sexual.
I personally associate this term negatively, but I admit this might be irrational. Wording it differently would help. But maybe they don't care and that's great.

Personally I've found you can't buy"chemistry". But I have a high bullshit detector.

Some of my best sessions have come from a couple of 180/hour niagara agencies. And a couple of Montreal agengies about the same price. I paid 300 once. It was decent but no click.

About the only thing you tend to find is consistantly better looks for the most part. As I'm more about service it usually won't be worth it to me.
