He knows 100% if his career is to go anywhere here he has to kick Yukis ass in the RB, if not he is at a dead end.

It was a mistake to put Lawson in the top team right off the bat.
I agree, I dunno why they did not take Sainz, probably too swarthy for Marko's taste
I like the kid and he was putting Checo to shame in the RB last year. I think he can be a great driver. But the Redbull car is a different animal. So it could have been too much too soon. It'll be interesting to see how Yuki does.
BUT... it all does smell a lot like "money" is at play. Yuki in Japan?! I feel like Lawson's slow start might have just been an excuse to get Yuki in the Redbull for show. I mean shit... TWO races and then yanked?! And one was in the rain where all the rookies shit the bed? I dunno... seems a bit funny.
Of course money played a role in it, as the story broke, it was reported by everyone that Honda gave Red Bull $10 million to put Yuki in the seat, but I don't think that money was the reason they put Yuki in there.
They had a rough start, they're behind and they don't want to keep falling behind.
So they gave it to Yuki because there's no one else around that they felt comfortable enough to give it too, that's my best guess.
McClaren is 2x ahead in constructors (78 to RB's 36 points) and could do even more damage if Red Bull kept Lawson.
I think I would have done the same thing and put Yuki in the seat, regardless of Honda money.
