I love F1 but not a chance in hell I'll watch that movie.
Pitt is 1 of the worst actors in Hollywood.
I have a feeling it will be a joke of a movie.
It will do well at the box office because of Netflix making F1 popular.
I just hope it doesn't make F1 look bush league.
James Hunt was a better Brad in real life. WC, party animal. Was seen getting a blowjob before the race and went on to win it. Had an orgy with a whole flight of BA stewardesses the night before the race. Hollywood cannot top this shit.

Can F1 live up to Rush, a personal favorite. Lewis Hamilton is co-producer with Brad Pitt.

The success of the film will depend on Damson Idris as an erasz Luigi Hamilton.

AI is getting disturbing.

Rush was awesome, but they created needless animus between Hunt and Lauda and toned down Hunts debauchery too much. Lauda and Hunt were really close friends and when he was asked about the movie he said they got pissed so many times together and he really missed his old friend.

Lewis Hamilton has pole for the sprint race:

How often is Lance Stroll quicker than Alonso?

Piastri edges out Russell and Norris for breakthrough maiden F1 pole during Chinese GP Qualifying

Chinese Grand Prix starting grid

Isack Hadjar 7th in qualifying for his 'first' race. He didn't complete the formation lap in Australia.

I wonder if Max Vestappen insisted on having a non-threatening co-driver this season. Liam Lawson qualified 20th for both the Sprint race and the Grand Prix. He started 18th in Australia, ahead of Ocon and Berman in the two Haas cards. Berman had no qualifying time, but was allowed to race at the stewards' discretion.
Lance seems to have rebooted for 2025. Maybe daddy told him if you want to drive the Newey car in 2026, show me that you really want it. As for Lawson, I am wondering if maybe Max may be a terrible development driver, simply because he can drive around almost anything. It seems as they tailor the car to Max it goes slower (even more so for his teammate) So as they develop the characteristics that max wants, they get a slower car that Max and only Max can wring a decent pace out of.

3 drives disqualified in 1 race. Not sure when that's happened before, if ever.
F1 doesn't mess around.

That block (aka "plank' ) was less than HALF a millimeter under the minimum thickness of 9mm!

That is LESS THAN half the thickness of a Canadian dime! Wow!

Seems like this is the second time Ferrari got disqualified for it. Charles in 2023 USGP.

And ironically, Lewis driving for MErcedes did too!

Hunt's Joe Namath ways was downplayed, it's a Ron Howard not Stanley Kubrick film. Hunt fully supported Lauda's safety measures, the tragedy is they weren't fully implemented until after Aryton The Great was killed. I knew what to expect from Daniel Bruhl as Lauda (Goodbye Lenin, Inglorious Basterds), Hemsworth was a complete surprise as Hunt. Since Rush he hasn't come remotely close to the characterization he gave for Hunt.

As Maxwell Smart said, "missed it by that much". I picked Oscar Hot Mess to win in Australia.

The online viewing option, (.mp4), should be available around 6:00 PM on Monday.

I recommend download/ watch/ recycle, because buffering delays will be inevitable for anyone without a fibre optic Internet connection, particularly if you try to fast-forward the video.

I'm pissed, Ferrari shit the bed again. At least Oscar Piastri won the race.

Had family dinner on Sunday. My sister's Italian is much better than mine, so I asked her what does piastri mean? She said this:

I had the same thought and looked it up. The records I found went back to the mid-70s.
4 disqualified in Canada in 2004 for illegal brake ducts, other than that a fair number of races with 2 but none with 3.
Hamiltons plank was only .5 of a millimetre off.

Love F1 but I'm not huge techie when it comes to the car set ups etc...

Can someone explain what would be different about the Ferrari car set up during the Spring vs the Sunday Race?

I’m not a huge techie either.
My guess would be the set up would be pretty close to the same, the teams were allowed to make some changes between the sprint race and qualifying. That could have accounted for it or the block could have been worn a little more due to the tire temps being slightly lower due to the day being cooler therefore being slightly softer. Remember it was only out .5 of a millimetre which is 1/64 of an inch so a very very small. I don’t recall seeing him run really hard over any curbs or off the track which could have accounted for the wear as well.

Yuki to Red Bull, man I hope Yuki does well, seems like the car kills careers.
If he manages to last through the season, the bonus of it all will be the goofy challenges and games Red Bull will have Max and Yuki do.

Going to be interesting to say the least, the RB car looks solid so far this year and I think Lawson is better than his results show the last 2 races. If Lawson finishes ahead of Yuki the next couple of races then what, swap them again? How much of a cluster fuck is RedBull right now? Is Max really pulling a pig of a car that far up the grid?

Cluster-fuck is the perfect word for Reb Bull. 😅😅
I don't think they'll bring Lawson back ever again and this will be a one way ticket for Yuki, it'll make or break his career. But I like his confidence to go to Red Bull, that and maybe Honda slipped him a few extra million besides the $10 million they gave to RB.

My best guess, Yuki gets points up for Red Bull, will hold his own and ride out the season.
I hope he pulls it off, Yuki is a confident little shit, I like the idea of him and Max.

I really like Kim Antonelli though, Max and Kim would be an even better pairing IMO.

As for Max and his skill, Calum (former RB mechanic/tech, now an ambassador for Rb, we've all seen him in the background lol) he explains why he thinks Max is good.
At 1:38 Horner said the same thing about Max in how Max notices everything on the track.

I am starting to suspect that while Max may be the best race driver, he sucks at car development. When the team gives Max the characteristics he "likes" the car ends up being not so quick. When they try and set it up for a driver that cannot handle such a loose car it becomes very unpredictable depending on speed and downforce. I am wondering if Max would be quicker in the RB car, as he can drive around anything.
