Sure, I agree but that wasn't my point. My point was they didn't lose to better teams in the playoffs because they got bounced around. I really don't know how you deduced that that was the reason and hence proof.
They lost to Washington at the time Washington was a far superior team. Matthews/Marner were rookies.
They lost to Boston when Boston was a far superior team. Yet took them to 7 games.
They lost to Columbus because they had a crap defense roster and Muzzin was injured.
Do you honestly think if they had more Cliffords they would have won each and every one of these series?
And how did you come to the conclusion that this is proof?
You need to straighten him out by posting some more stats...

and Columbus last year was not a crap team. They were like the Leafs. Had injuries to key players in the regular season. Hence almost identical records. Both teams were fully healthy to start the playoffs. It was a very even matchup until Muzzin was injured. When Werenski was injured for a stretch that's when Leafs made their push and got some goals. Once Werenski came back it tilted back to Columbus again. My apologies for not having more stats for this.

They didn't lose because they got bounced around. They lost because they weren't good enough. Which part of that were you not able to comprehend? Gardiner is not the whole team. He was one player. He was also inept when it mattered. Not good enough. Replacing Gardiner for a Clifford and they still wouldn't be good enough. You think replacing the whole team with 18 Cliffords and that's proof they'll be Cup Champs?

This season you eluded to the League memo after the Calgary game that to beat the leafs is to hit them. Well, Gardiner and Barrie and Marincin no longer play on the Leafs so which leaf now are you referring to? The league will send a memo to Leaf Organization to get rid of them.
You need to post some more stats.

I produced stats a while back ago where Toronto out hit Boston in their playoff series. Yet they didn't win. Which pretty much was in line with what I saw in the series. Toronto didn't lose because they were out hit. So I don't know where this proof comes from. And hitting is only effective during the playoffs. Has no effectiveness in the regular season. Does this even make any sense?
The team that has the puck more doesn’t hit as much...

A team can get out played, out shot, out hit, but if your goalie is great and the other guy is terrible, guess who will probably win...

I can’t believe how hung up you can get with any kind of negative comments on the Leafs or their players. Until they’re no longer Leafs then you have no problems dumping on them like you’re doing on Gardiner, Ceci, and Barrie . An innocent comment I made weeks ago can stick in your mind like toothache that you’ll take every opportunity to write essays to dispute it.

Look, there‘s nothing you can tell me that I didn’t already know and vice versa, so it has gotten to the point that we’ll only be going around in circles and get bored, at least I do, to drag this on and on. So let’s wait until the playoffs and see how this version does. I like the direction it’s going but I’ve been fooled just too many times to feel as excited as you are.

no trap, van the better team tonite.
Agreed - Demko played well - we had our chances and he made key saves. Can't be disappointed by the Leafs play - they played well.

The Leafs started to sag in the middle second period and into the third. Their legs looked heavy and the speed wasn't there. It was a back to back with crazy start times in 2 time zones. Unlike teams in the East division, they don't leave their time zone.

Ever heard of Russ Courtnall for John Kordic? Sounds like some would choose Kordic slam dunk. With a theses to prove it.
You continue with these straw men arguments, are you just digging your heels in the sand to appear right
or do you really not get it?
Personally, I think your digging your heels in, I don't think your stupid enough to believe what you just wrote.

The Leafs were better in every facet of the three game series, goaltending, defence, puck battles, specialty teams, top players performance, coaching..... Other than the goaltenders and Nylander, the other guys who were noticeable and impactful were Hyman, Bogosian, Brody, and Mikheyev. You could probably name a few more guys and no one will disagree.

The one guy I would single out to praise is Hyman. Man I just love how this guy plays the game. Never takes a shift off whether he’s on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd or pk. If there’s another guy who works harder and produces as much, I’d like to know who that is. I just hope he’s a Leaf for the rest of his career.
Hyman is really hard to knock down, he is always moving his feet and never seems to get tired.

I must also say, that Nylander seems to be developing a much better puck IQ.

It‘s a funny game that you can play 3near prefect games against a hot team and then lose 2 to a struggling team. These mini series are dangerous if you lose the momentum to the other team, you can lose two or three in a row easily.

Nylander has been playing very well since the benching. Even with the mistake on the penalty I thought he put out good effort tonight. I’d consider it an honest mistake as he was trying to make a play and the puck just rolled off his stick and went over the boards. It’s his laziness that I have problems with.

Leafs ran into a hot goalie these past to games. Demko was solid once again.

I don't think "puck IQ" has ever been Willy's problem. Passing to the right guy and getting in the right spot are among his skills.

Leafs looked very sloppy and off stride and things just didn't click for them tonight.

Yep, Keefe pointed it out in the post-game interview and that they couldn't find their legs. Keefe thought the 1 day off would help on the long road trip. Leafs took 3 out of 5 which isn't bad.
