Fingers crossed, candles lit, offerings made to the Hockey Gods.
They did show in Game 2 that they can compete - so here's hoping they can win the next two as a start.

Six months from now, Lightning fans will say those 3 Lightning goals were laser guided missiles. Here is the truth
Goal one: "A "seeing eye" grounder from the blueline.
Goal two: A flopping shot with 0.3 seconds left in the period.
Goal three: A reverse pass by the Hab defenseman that went awry .
The Hockey Gods were very mischievous on Wednesday night.
Montreal was hardly outplayed for the majority of the Vegas and Winnipeg series.
To be honest I would probably do the same thing if the Leafs were losing in the finals.
I say probably because in my approximately 45 years of being alive it has never been something I have had to deal with. So who knows how I would act.

I guess Habs in 4 is still in play if the Habs can win 4 straight. Only the Leafs trailing 3-0 have come back to win 4 straight to win the cup.

Tampa is the class of the NHL. Too deep and too strong for the Hab's magical run to overcome.
Only faint hope now is that the Hab's can avoid a sweep - but Tampa is on a mission to cement their place as a modern day "dynasty" - so don't think that will happen.

They are the class of the league.. too bad, i really thought they might take that game last night, but,,,,,,,cant get behind that quick. i hope they can at least win the next game...
Tampa strikes me as the the type of team that is going to go all out to end this in four.
MTL is giving it all they have but they just can't match the horses that Tamps have.
They can out play them for stretches at a time but it's never good enough to take the game.
Agree. The Tampies can afford to lose one or two games so might as well go all gung ho in game 4 or 5 (if it happens). The Hockey Gods are a very fickle mistress. You never know when they might turn against you.
The Habs have already exceeded all expectations. No shame if they lose.
What is really weird is that the Habs are playing a team that is built using the Montreal system. Start with the goalie, then the defense and then the forwards (who play a 200 foot game).
The Leafs on the other hand are doing it bass-ackwards. They start with the forwards and work backwards.

I doubt anyone of the three know the difference between "not feeling shame" and "celebrating", unlike other members on the Boards.
Wow...you're saying that Tampa is "using the Montreal System?" Is that the same system that got Claude Julien and Kirk Muller fired halfway thru the year?
I don't think having a top goalie, solid defence and creative/skilled forwards is a big secret to success around the NHL and the Montreal Canadiens get absolute credit for inventing it...
Feel free to give it whatever moniker you like. There is no trade mark on that moniker. Should we now call it the "Tampa System" even though the Habs predated the Lightning by decades?
I use it because I have been told that is the system used by the Canadiens since at least the 1950's (a couple of decades before my time). So, win or lose that has been the system ever since I been following the Habs.
BTW: The current version of the Leafs is built bass ackwards (i.e. forwards first, then defense and then goalie).
