Of the two I would prefer Cousins, he might mess up the team chemistry or he might just want to play on a winner. The thing is HE CAN PLAY!, one problem with a trade is you have to give up something to get something, and you can destroy a team when you believe you are improving it! I would be surprised if there are any significant changes before the end of the year, I don't think 1 player gets them a title or a title game. Raps are still a work in progress.

Spurs sure kicked ass last night. That was sad!
The core is still young and so selling tons of assists for a player that will be free this summer doesn't make sense ..

Agree..........and looking at some of the play on this road trip trading for 1 player will not make them a championship contender, Getting close but still a few pieces away

Although again the Raps have 2 1st round pics .. How many prospects can a team have with NBA roster sizes being not that great ..

under the new cba teams can carry 17 players. 2 way contracts will be allowed so a player will be paid at one rate when playing for D league and a higher rate (NBA minimum) when with the big team. the hope is it will keep players in north America as opposed to Europe or Asia.

still if you are going to make a trade you still have to match salaries in order to keep below the cap, so a draft pick could be a deal sealer if added to a bench player and/or a starter to get the stud you think you need.

Beat Utah again, anything but an ass kicking! Patterson not playing is increasing his value, much better team with him. Raps never lead until about half way through the final quarter. Lowery came through again. Bebe really needs to get it together, made the hi-lite real for dropping his shorts. The kid has to shoot more. Joseph 1 for 8 no 3 point attempts, he needs to work on his game! Chicago tomorrow, hope Patterson is back.

Wow. Chicago owns us. I really thought once we ha a decent lead this 2017 team would close out the win. Not so.

That was sad! Butler put them on his back and the Raps watched! Joseph was having a decent game until his brain fart at the end of the third. Patterson and Sullinger better get healthy soon, lack of a true 4 is hurting them, big time. What the fuck is with JV? Hot dogging it after the dunk and whining after every foul, grow the fuck up!

Different team same story tonight against Houston. I know the Milsap trade is bad long term, but it sure feels necessary these days. I'm wondering if the Raps would consider throwing Valunciunas in the deal? I really don't know how the salary calculations work on a trade?

I don't think trading for Milsap is the answer, but I think a trade that will wake some of the bench players up may be in order. Milsap will cost bodies you may not want to give up for a huge salary of what maybe nothing more than a rental. Sullinger will be coming back and Patterson played last night. No question the PF spot is an issue might be a guy out there you can get cheaper as a temporary fill in until Sullinger is healthy. I would be shopping Ross Joseph Powell and maybe JV, or Bebe, depending on who/what is available, think all of them need their cages rattled. Siakim and Jacob could be had for the right piece. Really looks to me like a few guys are feeling too comfortable and need a shake up.

You go take a nap for a couple of weeks and wake up to the fact that tonite's game is for the division lead? What's been happening since I was aware last!!:wink::thumb:

Followed the boys on their trip and that was one exhausting trip and I wasn't even playing! Again, they left the defence on the planes again or forgot to declare it at customs. Until these guys truly commit, there is no reason to want a Millsap, Nowitzski or even Curdmudgeon Cousins now as this cast is nowhere near one player away. Not sure what they can do about it but I say wait till Sully gets back and see what he brings (hopefully something!) and then retool over the summer. Such a shame cuz I think there's more to this group than what's showing up on the court nowadays. Maybe it's Casey......or not.......lets start by making the most of home and start winning again.

Just a little concerned about tonight's game. Need to play some "D". Wasn't there mention of holding the opposition to 23 points a quarter or less? Almost never happens! Need a solid 48 minute effort from every Raptor tonight. None of this come from behind or surrender a large lead late.
Agree that there isn't really much they can do to make the team better without taking part of it apart. Get Sullinger in to the mix and if that doesn't improve things, then go shopping! Think they are still a few pieces away from challenging the Warriors Cavs and Spurs.

Unfortunately in todays era nothing will make you contend unless you have 3 all stars on your roster.

Thought there would be comments on last nights game by now DD 41 points 13 rebounds JV with a kick ass game 18 points and 23 rebounds, arguably his best game as a Raptor, Now he has to give the Raps that kind of effort consistently! Whynot888, if you could get that from him regularly you have your third all star! On the downside Ross is regressing to where he was last year, play is inconsistent. Siakim is out of favor!

You're at it too early D!

Another atypical Raptor win. I give this group that, they do pull games out and never the same way! That second quarter again shows where we're not as a team! JV goes nuts but check out who he was dealing with. When the opposition is bigger and more athletic JV suffers. If he can give this effort every night, maybe he can start to really factor in. DC over the last few has started to play both ends again and that might help. Bench is still on holiday break!

Casey is tightening rotation as we start second half so Poeltl and Siakam will start showing up at 905 games soon!

JV can give you that type of effort on a more regular basis. There are guys that are going to play him tough but if he wants it, as he did last night he is capable of competing. He just needs to want it more often. Before he got hurt in the playoffs last year he was on a roll, need to see that again. Lowery DeRozan and JV are one hell of a three some when all are in sync! Just need it to happen more often. The bench has to pick it up too. Not much help there at the moment. Powell Ross Joseph all inconsistent. At least when Patterson was coming off the bench you knew the "D" would be there.

I'm least concerned about Powell. I think he's part of the future Raps for sure. Should be interesting heading into February and the trade deadline. I'm sure if there is a trade to be made it won't be anything any one of us was expecting!
For now, I'm pretty sure the Boston game shows us we are pretty solidly in 2nd place in the east. I don't think Boston has a schedule like ours for the rest of the season. We play the majority at home and against sub 500 teams. Heck we might even be resting starters sometime in early March?!??
