I wish they didn't give TRoss a contract extension ... Often players give us something more when it is a contract year and now he is already signed and overpaid ... He would have been only a restricted free agent next summer ... what was the rush in giving this guy money .. DeRozan gets to the line more times in one quarter then T.Ross gets in 5 games ..
It had to do with the impending increase in the cap next year and what they may have had to pay him to keep him. Other than he is inconsistent you don't hear any thing bad about him. He is good in the dressing room, no problems off the court, reportedly a hard worker. While JV is coming into his own, Ross continues to throw up a really good game then not much, and just as you write him off he has another great game. I can't recall back to back good to great efforts from him, can anyone? Unfortunately with the bench being what it is you probably can't relegate him to the bench as a wake up call.

The Raps did get to the line 39 times ... Thunder only 14 ... Although Refs were super sensitive when it comes to T.O when issuing Technicals
The Raps should have been at the line more often than that..... Biyombo did not deserve the foul call let alone the "T" and I thought the Lowrie "T" was cheap. there times when they could have just as easily called a "T" on Thunder players but looked the other way. I was frustrated as hell with the officiating. FYI: I watch TSN telecasts without audio as I detest Matt's bum boy, so mine is observation not anything Matt or the wing nut are saying.

You think by his 4th season we would see something new in his game ... He is what he was when he came in ... A avg jump shoorter who doesn't rebound or doesn't pass ...

The Grizlies losing by 50 to Golden State .. Pelicans 1 one win Dallas losing to eastern teams ... A lot of West teams not off to a hot start and don't know if that is a trend ..

Yeah reality check!!! However still 5-0 overall and 3-0 on the road. You can't be unhappy with that!

The Magic tonight, hope they don't burst our bubble.

Reality Check for them also ... They have to be true to themselves and always remember what happened against the Wizards ... You aren't always what your record says ie they aren't a 5-0 team .. They are a team who have worked hard and are on a 5 game winning streak ... They beat the Thunder yes but in 3rd quarter they allowed 42 points ...

The 4 game sweep by the Wizards has left a bitter taste in the mouth of the leaders of the Raptors (Lowry and DeRozen). This team is on a mission, getting off to a great start was critical for the Raptors, going 5 - 0 is icing on the cake. We have a great veteran core by picking up Carrol and Scola.

This is the year for the Raptors to go deep in the playoffs (I am calling it now - Eastern Conference Finalists)

Long Season Silk but I share the optimism only because this year's squad is leading from the defensive side and that always is a plus come PO time. I have noticed how the East is thumping west teams this season so far so it will be interesting if this does continue. Parity between east and west would be interesting though elites are still more prevalent in west.

Again, the rest of this month will be a major test with all the away games. If they get through the rest of the month around .500, it'll be a good sign. Tonight is one they should win if they consider themselves elite. Let's see how it goes...!

What the raps need now is a scorer off the bench. Preferably a scorer who can play the 2/3 spot.

As long as none of the starters go out on long term injury, I like your call, as the bench is just OK. Big drop in talent from the starters to the bench.
So far no one even close to resembling Lew Williams coming off the bench. He sure could add spark when entered the game, defense was suspect but he could ignite the team.

Agree whole heartedly. At the moment Casey doesn't feel he has a back up 3 on the bench. James J and Bennett getting almost no playing time.

How about renting a player at deadline? Perhaps a Jamal Crawford, he's going to be a FA next year?

I would not be impressed if they traded assets for a guy like Crawford .... We had Lou Williams ( 6th man of the year ) and we let him go for nothing ... Also we just gave a guy 11 million a year to give us scoring off the bench ... If we need to trade for someone that means Ross is wasting us time and money ..

I think they need to pick one or two players up. Don't see Crawford, his skills are deteriorating and he is a 2-3, I think they need a true 3.
Definitely need a shot of adrenalin off the bench. James Johnson should be that guy. I wonder if Bennett was given the opportunity if he could get
it done. #1 overall has to have talent some where, don't they?? Thought he showed he could play during the FIBA tournament.

We are number 2 !!!

Last Week: 12

Are the Toronto Raptors the favorites to represent the East?

Nope, not while James and the Cavs retain the possibility of a return to full health at some point before April. As long as there's even a slim chance the Cavaliers hit their stride in the next five months, they deserve East-favorite status.

But we kind of knew there'd be a team with the capacity to put together a good enough regular season to overtake the cautious, healing Cavs in the win column, perhaps securing the top seed. The Raps, at 5-0, look like that team.

Kyle Lowry is thinner, DeMarre Carroll has provided the two-way wing play Toronto has lacked for years and the defense looks great, ranking sixth in efficiency through games played Nov. 5, according to NBA.com.

We've seen hot Raptors starts go frigid before (like, last year, for example), but until they prove otherwise, the East's only undefeated squad deserves this spot

Parade anyone lol for number 2 on Bleacher Report ...

Yup, Dawg they burst our bubble! Couldn't buy a bucket, let alone a vowel, last night! The boys really need to get an offence that actually has multiple options! Still loving the defensive effort but scoring is not as easy as they thought it'd be. Carroll is trying to find a stroke so hopefully that will happen tomorrow night!

Masai will have some decisions to make again soon. With all the picks in the next two years, does he go the reboot with young ones, or does he use those picks as trade bait to get a premier 4 to round out this starting group? Discuss among yourselves...!!

That wasn't a good loss last night especially with Orlando missing Vucevic. 35% shooting from the field including only 22% from beyond the arc. Yuck. If anything is our Achilles Heel it is outside shooting. Makes it all the more imperative for the likes of JV to improve on their post up game. That being said Orlando is a better team than their record indicates. All their losses were close and they have a plethora of young talent - Oladipo, Harris, Gordon etc.

Now if we can get a win in Miami Sunday that would be a very successful road trip.

This is why I was thinking we could use Fredette. Obviously not a starter but just a role player mixed in with strong help defenders like Bismack and Carroll. By the way, Bismack is probably a lot worse offensively than Fredette is defensively. How can a player at this level be so bad???
