Russia is the best in hockey period
Boy do you look silly!

Canadians OWNED the Russians today. Out shot 'em 2-1 and dominated the Russians in their own end. Add to that a superb performance by Subban and the most disciplined play to date (only 2 minors, both from MacKinnon) and the result was obvious. The Russians were simply outplayed in every department tonight.

That being said, an extra 2 days of rest is nice but I sure hope the Canadians don't get rusty. They could be up against a rematch with the Americans and that will be a killer game (and much more of a threat than the Russians turned out to be).

Jenner was a monster out there.
I'm glad he got the cape, cuz he stood out everytime he was out there.
We haven't won anything yet, but I am really impressed with the skill level of the Canadians, skating, puckhandling, taking hard, crisp passes.
We've always relied on our tenacity and team play to make up for any gap in overall individual skill levels,
but we have clearly crossed a threshold.
They are beautiful to watch, elite skill combined with ferocity.

Only caught the last half, but i saws a better canadian team stay on top of the Russians, stay out of the penalty box, and stay strong in front of a steady and not flashy Subban.

You missed some killer saves from Subban in the early half of the game. He didn't have a lot to do in the second half as Canada's dominance took over.

Where are all the Jenner haters now? THAT performance is a typical outing for him. Does he cross the line sometimes? Yep but when you play like he does it happens. What a player!

If he takes more STUPID penalties like he did with the one that got him a 3-game suspension, hater #1 will be right here. You can be the greatest player in the world but if you take stupid penalties that jeopardize your team's chances of winning, you'll get no sympathy from me. But I agree that he did look good yesterday.

He has taken 2 stupid penalties in two years. I watch almost ever Generals game and from what I know he hasnt ever been suspended in his OHL career. Dumb penalties yes I agree but its not like he is a goon like others have made him out to be

Two stupid penalties that resulted in two suspensions in two tournaments. He needs to smarten up.
Ill agree but that does not define him as a player overall. He is way more who you saw yesterday than the two dumb penalties. When you play like he does sometimes shit happens. Ill take that player everyday.

Add to that the IIHF and the way they try to make it more of a sissy sport and you get stupid calls.
I would have given Jenner one, maybe two, if anything at all.
In the games since the first incident I would have given 2 and 10. Noting else.
The second was clean and should not have even been a penalty.
Hockey is a tough sport.

I agree with that there end up being some stupid calls, but they're not trying to turn it into a sissy sport.
They're just trying to get the garbage out of it.

The NHL is trying to get the crap out of the game.
If that were true about the IIHF then there would not be much problem and they would understand that hockey is a contact sport and sometimes player will get hurt even on clean plays.
Camara(Canada Junior player) should not have even got a two.

It's always going to be a problem finding a proper medium. It's never perfect.
The NHL is a quite a few years late in trying to get the garbage out of the game.
It's only since last year that they've come down hard on shots to the head and hits from behind.
And guys keep on doing it. And Shanahan started getting flack because he was to severe in his punishment. And players keep doing it.

I think the IIHF is taking the position that preventing serious injuries is more important than a player's right to destroy another guy, even when it's within the rules.
That's not pussifying the game in mny opinion.

And I agree, Camara's hit was not a penalty. His approach wasn't even that menacing.
I mentioned previously that the Slovakian player was completely negligent in leaving himself so vulnerable.

Once more, the bridesmaid. I literally turned on the news and was instantly told of the loss. I don't get it. No need to watch it now from the PVR.
