A whole slew of games were played today, some notable results:

Italy barely beat Norway 2-1, Italy was down after the 1st minute.

England blew a 2 goal lead late to tie Austria 2-2.

France somehow managed to tie Israel at home 0-0, yes Israel.

And the biggest stunner yet, European Champions Greece lost 2-1 to Albania. So anyone who thought Greece was playing over their heads and they didnt deserve it, have at it!!

They deserved it.
Any other opinion is just sour grapes.

England - Austria : 2-2

England need's to find another goal-keeper, because David James just cracks under pressure. And why can't England hold onto a lead. Brazil came from behind and beat them in World Cup 2002 and so did France in Euro 2004. And let's not forget Portugal. They need to maintain their composure for the full 90 minutes if they want to win anything.

France - Israel : 0-0

That's life after Zidane !!!

There were again a ton of games today, some noteworth scores:

Holland beat the Czechs 2-0.

France beat Faroe Islands 2-0 with Vieria getting sent off.

Italy narrowly beat Moldova, apparently Buffon kept them in it.

England didnt blow a lead and beat Poland 2-1.

Over rated Spain tied Bosnia 1-1.

And those glorious European Champions tied Turkey 0-0 at home.

World Cup 2006 ...

World Cup 2006 should be very interesting by the way big-guns like France, Italy, England, and Spain are currently playing. Their opponents are not even that strong, and all they can manage are marginal victories/ties. They should be playing on a whole different level. I wouldn't be surprised if Brazil wins it again. Host nation Germany has very little chance winning it on home soil. Once a power-house, they've seemed to have just lost it. What are your prediction's on who will win in Germany 2006 ?

Too early to predict as big E said. However, at this point Brazil and Argentina seem to be above any of the European nations. A lot of English players will be hitting their prime (Gerrard, Ferdinand, Owen, Rooney, Woodgate) but they always seem to find a way to lose.
