I got the name wrong. It is Sosua. Lots of friendly women, both local and visitors. Very relaxed and no hassles.

why not Yellowknife and you could visit the Gold Range to stay warm:thumb:

The Gold Range, on 50th Street, is a notorious location with a reputation stretching across the Canadian Arctic.
That's actually kind of a cool suggestion, in a quirky sort of way. I mean, for sure, "I went up to the arctic in January and spent the week hanging out in a strip club" is not something most people can say they did on vacation.

I am guessing maybe the talent is not much better than the weather though.

Acapulco is a toilet.
Absolutely filthy.
The city is built around a bay and there is no sewage treatment. Straight pipes into the bay
Walking along the beach I saw a turd float by
The was garbage all over the streets and the sand is very granular, ie painful to walk on in bear feet.

The tourist woman also need to be very careful at night.

You may regret Acapulco as a choice.
I certainly did

Thats too bad, 30 years ago it was the greatest place to party.

Those are the exact same reasons I spend many a weekend in Colombia... too much hassle for a Brazilian visa and Rio is freak in expensive!!!!

FWIW about Brazil.

I was going to hang out there for a month this winter.

Then I found out that you need a fucking VISA to go there. $91 plus they can take a month to approve it so you are without your Passport for a month. And you have to send it regular mail so there is an added risk of loss of passport. I travel internationally at least every month of not two weeks so that makes it a no go.

And they want a copy of your last years tax assessment or a copy of your last bank statement. Yeah, like I want them knowing any of that!

And pictures for your visa and a copy of your ticket. Like I have to book a ticket first, then if they for some reason say no then I am pooched for my ticket?

No way!

Going to hit Argentina or Columbia instead!

(The reason for the Visa requirements is in response to Canada's insistence on Visa's for Brazillians visiting Canada. Seems a lot were not going home afterwards! Anyways, this retailiation cost them plenty I'm sure!0)

My recommendation is Cartagena, Colombia. Incredible historic city and the women are amazing. Legal too.

If I can chime in, what do you look for in a vacation? Are you a resort person or adventure person? I went to the Mayan Riviera which I found completely safe and loved the cenotes and exploring the ruins, I am actually planning to go back and do a road trip to Belize and Guatemala this winter. Be a smart traveler and you wont have any issues.

I did a trip to San Jose, Costa Rica this past summer and had an amazing time. You can score a gorgeous SP for $80-$100. No beach though and in regards to safety you can walk around in tourist area during the day and everyone takes cabs at night. I felt safer there than I do in my own city at night. You mentioned you wanted a beach, but it is about an hour from San Jose. I heard great things about Jaco Beach and guys at my hotel were finding ladies in San Jose and just taking them with to Jaco Beach. Escorting is legal in Costa Rica and you can find any age (they check ID's at hotels for age which is great), size, etc.

I have also heard great things about the Dominican Republic from guys I was hanging with in Costa Rica. They had gone a couple times and it has the beaches you need right there.

There is a whole group of mongers who head to CR and DR and it is easy to find a good conversation. If you have questions just PM me.

I think Porter Airlines has some good deals to Montreal or Quebec City right now.
I'd spend six nights in each place. Quebecois SP's are great, and about $100 an hour cheaper than TO prices.........so book one SP a night and you will save over a grand and AND improve your french:)

I am very surprised that Europe is not featured in the list of places for vacation. Highly recommend Barcelona, Paris, London, Prague, but there are so many beautiful places there.

Europe is great but the OP did mention:

I like to keep it simple, white sands, crystal clear water, some scuba diving,

Just got back from Veradero Cuba, stayed at Iberostar Playa Alamada, great hotel 4.5 stars, went for a week originally, came home for a day, then flew back down for another 2 weeks at the same hotel. Had a amazing time, thanks for the info here, many more places to choose from now. If you ever are going to Cuba, I highly recommend this place.
