I agree with you with the fact that when tragedies like that happens, debate on how we could have done otherwise is unsensitive.

I disagree with you when you say it's not political tho. The United States of America is the country with the most mass shooting in the world. Why is that? I don't think you need to be a "righties" or a "lefties" to answer this question properly. Lots of bad decision up there.

USA has 2 big problems: 1) unlimited political donations (bribery?) And 2) gerrymandering such that places like Wisconsin where Republicans get 40% of the vote for state legislature reps yet get 60% of the seats. Or 51% of North Carolinian vote Democrat for federal house seats yet get only 4 seats vs Republicans getting 9 seats.

Or that 6 of the 9 Supreme Court judges appointed by Presidents who lost the popular vote.

This is why things like right to choose or expanded background checks - supported by over 3 quarters of the population- cannot become law.

Millions of Americans own an AR-15. They have a wide variety of uses - competitive shooting, self defense, hunting. If used and maintained properly, they are safe, reliable and effective. And 99.999% of them are never involved in a mass shooting.
How is a weapon that can fire 400 - 800 rounds per minute used for competitive shooting or self defense or hunting? And the fact that it is the weapon of choice for these mass murderers obviously means nothing to you. You sound more like "half man, half ape"

Really ? Are you serious ? Explain what competitive shooting you have done ? Hunting what ? If you need an AR for self defense, have millions of dollars in your bank account for a legal fees and law suits. All previous mass shooting were committed with a pellet gun, right ? OMFG

The gunman purchased one AR-15 from a federally licensed gun store the day after he turned 18. A day later, on May 18, he purchased 375 rounds of ammunition. And on May 20, he purchased a second AR-15. That was 4 days before the massacre.

Adam Lanza also used an AR-15 rifle at Sandy Hook.

Too many loop holes in the laws,

According to news reports, the shooter was not a registered as a student. Where did he get the money to buy an assault rifle and ammo ? Too many questions, its too late to get answers. Money, greed and politics, three worst evils of mankind.

No I did not, I asked you if you agree with arming teachers which is exactly what you are calling for in your question. Do you believe it is feasible to have an armed guard at every door of every school in the US??
Yes, its feasible to have armed guards at every door, in every school in the US. Hire veterans. They are experienced, fearless and will defend children and teachers. That suggestion does not make sense, because the Federal, State and Local government do not want the additional burden and drain on their budgets. Its a no win situation.

And how stupid is the suggestion to arm teachers and general school staff? They would likely have minimal basic training in handling firearms, especially in a mass shooter threat situation, and would probably make the situation worse instead of better. Nor would they be a deterrent to somebody crazy enough be planning to carry out a mass shooting.

Yuh. Just what would giving Miss Ambrose the frightened, 55 year old poetry teacher a Glock pistol achieve?

Or Bob the Janitor with an AR-15? Half would be frightened to use the weapons and the other half would be firing at shadows - or each other, or the cops.

It's just more crappola from the GOP because they want to suck that golden NRA cock for as long as they can. Nothing they say makes sense. It's just enablement and bullshit.

Quite simply the situation won't change for this reason.

Fear. The people of the USA live in fear. Of their own government, their own police depts, and whatever "other" is their layest scapegoat. It's palpable. Having returned recently for the USA and seeing the income inequality, the physical decay, the emotional and spiritual decay of its society and people, they have given up, or are choosing to take up arms expecting a complete breakdown.

Everything is based on climbing over their fellow Americans to get ahead, not working together. Exploitation instead of collaboration. They are judged not on content of character, but status of wealth and fame. And they easily and callously discard those deemed useless and spent.

They will sell you anything, try to convince you can't live without this, with crassness and pressure, all for the quick buck. Their corporations will happily hurt them, in the name of profit. Their Government kill them, in the name of control, and their fellow citizens, both out of ego and pride, desire for things, and despair over failure.

They fear each other, and for good reason.
