1) Growing up in rural Quebec.
2) University

We've been to Israel a couple of times. Love those young female soldiers in their olive green uniforms. Our female tour guide/driver on one of the visits was ex-IDF. She always had a rifle by her side. All able Israeli young males and females (except the religious) serve compulsory military service.

It’s relaxed now( 2.5 years vs 3 years during my service) + more job options ( office jobs, technical and so on).Next time, you should go to the Dead Sea and the surrounding cities.

My top ten years happened early in life but the years that followed have been pretty darn good as well.

Clinton years… markets roaring and easy money during the day (before the bubble burst), and at night Monica Lewinsky and Keneth Starr entertainment…A BBBJ in the oval office? Priceless…

I can’t believe people are university/college. I fucking hated college; There’s too much stress in it because If I’m in college full time, then I’m not working so I have worry about my ass not failing a course. If I fail a course then my ass is in academic probation.

There’s also the tsunami wave of assignments and projects that get handed out before the week of finals that have to be submitted before the tight deadlines. University is the worst especially with incompetent professor. It’s unbelievable that people are actually saying university was there best ten years of living.

All three of those decades started with recessions and the last one had COVID thrown in and a Russian war.
You got to roll with it, pal, and make the best of what you got.
Recession, wars in another continent or even Covid won't get me down.
For me those were great years personally.
I also enjoyed 1980-1990 but that overlaps with the first one.

Sounds like U of Tears or Waterpoo engineering/ stem.
For my Physics undergraduate degree, I attended a second-tier university, which was a lot of fun. Girls, parties, and laid-back profs.
Grad school was the same way, but it was in Europe, so add skiing and regular wine trips to the mix.

The ten years when my kids were ages 4-14 and willing to accept that Dad knew something and was trying to give them knowledge to move forwards as they grew up.

I am patiently waiting for the 10 years in the future when they have kids of their own.
And realize Dad was not totally full of it, and maybe they should have been willing to listen when they were 14-24 etc years old.

Some people say the best 10 years are 60-70 when you are retired (no more tethered to a cellphone), the house is mortgage free, the kids are all off on their own, you still have your health, your wise investments make you a multi-millionaire, etc.

One of my biggest wishes is for my daughter to have a kid just like her.

1992-2001 university years and early adult working life. Music was great back then. Leafs had 2 really good playoff runs. The Jays won back to back WS. The Avalanche won 2 Cups. The Raptors were born, I had seasons tickets for their first couple of seasons. Did a lot of travelling. Energy to burn.
