I did the same this time and it didn't seem to make a difference with some unfortunately. Although this is still very good advice and probably saved me even more stress than if I hadn't.

My cancelations were from TERB members. My two no shows were from Leolist randoms. In the end, everything yesterday worked out. It is just not worth the stress though.

Two of my cancelations HAD paid small deposits, so I recommend she ask for at least half of her rate in deposit. Twenty to sixty dollars is disappointing when you are still losing at least 200 dollars you had planned to make, especially with hotel prices right now. One demanded the deposit back...
