Searching online, it appears they track down your name and grab photos from your social media to intimidate you.

Actually, it's not a scam. They killed me so, be careful.

If they don't hang up right away (usually they do), or if it's one of the other scams, I just as if their mother knows they're a criminal. I have learned a few very special words in Urdu and Hindi because of that...

Also try: I'm with the RCMP cyber fraud division. We're recording your voice so our AI system can track you if you ever cross an international border. We _will_ find you if you ever try to leave India.

I was low-key obsessed with videos of people trolling CRA and IRS scammers for a while there. It's how I learned to swear in Hindi. "Teri ma ki chut" and "madharchod" are two favorites.

If they constantly say "Sir", that's a pretty good sign you're dealing with a scammer.

Personally, I'd love to get a scammer and tell them my name is "Mathieu Drachaud" but everyone calls me "Matt Drachaud".

And when they get angry, I'll just tell them it's a common surname in the Tabernac region of Quebec where I'm from.

I got a scam text today and it said, "Hello. May I ask you a question?"

I said: The answer is that I am 7 1/2 inches fully hard. And I charge $20 per pic.

They did not respond.

Damn.. I recently got such messages. They even threaten to kill my family and I definitely know it's a scam and they don't know that I don't have much friends or family here. I send mocking messages and obviously reported and blocked. I also received some edited weird images like decapitated head.

My cousin fell for it and shelled out a couple of grand, but he's and idiot and a buffoon. He ended up meeting the guy and his crew in some bar and he offered to be his protection
