Members of Trump’s team have ‘had it with Netanyahu’s antics’
William Lawrence, a Middle East analyst and professor at American University, says Trump has people around him that want his Gaza plan to go through “against the wishes of Israel” and the pro-Israel lobby in the US.
“People have figured out that it’s not about finishing the job [for Israel], it’s about perpetual war, perpetual occupation,” Lawrence explained.
“There is a sense now that there’s a certain thinking for Trump and a certain number of advisers around Trump who have kind of had it with Netanyahu’s antics,” he said.
“So if this thing turns for the better now, it’ll be because Hamas is calling everyone’s bluff and Trump is also calling Netanyahu’s bluff.”
As we’ve been reporting, experts have long said that Netanyahu has sabotaged efforts to reach a lasting ceasefire in Gaza for political reasons.

Let me get it straight. Someone (e.g., a bank robber) got hostages and killed some of them (just for the fun of it). The bank is surrounded by the police. That terroris/bank robber say "Let me go and keep the money and I will let the hostages go". The police said "No way, you let the hostages go, surrender, and we will take the death penalty off the table for you/" And you think it is the police's fault and that hostages are not released yet? The Trump's proposal (to which Israel agreed) is very simple: free hostages and disarm, and we will give amnesty to regular terrorists (pretty generous proposal, don't you think?). What did Hamas say? We will free the hostages but will not disarm. What they are not saying (but definitely imply): in a year or two we will get full control over Palestine again and repeat terrorist attacks on Israel.

Trump is a businessman, so, he used to believe in contracts because contracts are enforceable. But this is politics; no contracts are enforceable. He was a fool to believe Putin, he is a fool to believe Hamas, but he is learning.
