These guys are out huge money not only from not playing but legal expenses.
She walked away with a couple million from hockey canada on false accusations.
Too bad people can't sue for reperations for being falsly accused and damaging their past/future earnings.

You can.
But you'd have to prove beyond a shred of reasonable doubt that the person intentionally lied.
You cannot prove that here.
The judge said:
“I do not find the complainant was dishonest or fabricated her evidence.”
However, “her evidence contains inconsistencies and contradictions which affect her reliability.”

Well it's final...All innocent and free to go.

Judge ruled that EM's credibility was in question. Which is pretty much what the majority of us thought on here from the jump.

I'm hoping that the players who were wrongly accused here can somehow get their careers back on track.

I know Alex Formenton has left hockey but as a Sens fan it would be good to see him come back. He was an emerging star for us.

It's interesting watching MSM trying to spin this. Obviously it wasn't the verdict they wanted.
Carter Hart is going to be back in net in no time. The goalie market is thin and he will likely get a contract before the next season starts. As for the rest of them I'm not so sure, they might have to go to Europe to play for a while before they get back into the NHL or if they are lucky they'll get a cheap contract

As a Flyers fan, Hart isn't the goalie he was hyped up to be.
Good rookie year, after that injured a lot and very inconsistant.
Yes the team itself sucks, but he looked very unmotivated many times.
Good bye and good luck.

The judge gave her a soft landing.
Not sure the boyfriend will be as magnanimous.

I don't disagree but as I said the goalie market is thin at the moment. Injuries happen, prospects flop, aging stars flop. Some team will see him as either an upgrade or a patch. Either way I have no doubt he plays in the NHL again

I'm sure President Trump will insist all of them are offered lucrative NHL contracts......or else.
They should be eligible to play. She was a hocky slut and had regret and created all this drama. That is why most people on this board feel safer just paying for it. Nothing they did was illegal and really should have remained a private affair. Debauchery and sports is nothing new. Besides NHL is a thug sport anyway.

Oblivion
The Crown knowingly advanced a frivolous, vexatious law suit that they knew or aught to have known was without any chance of getting a conviction. The five defendants may be able to sue the Crown for damages .
The political “higher ups” that compelled the Crown to go ahead this case have a lot to answer for.
The accused may get out of court settlements from the Crown which will be confidential but significantly higher than what
“ cum remorse” E.M. received from Hockey Canada.
