Monte Carlo is just an F1 parade for the rich folks. Where insecure celebrities go to have their egos stroked while showing off their tans.
Even Formula One has to prostitute itself on occasion.

Well that certainly didn’t help.

The only thing that surprised me was no actual safety car, when they mandated two stops to avoid what happened last year my first thought was “Big deal, there’s usually 2 or 3 safety car periods every year“.

If it wasn’t for Hamilton working the undercut (Ferrari was bound to get right at some point) and Alonso retiring you could have handed the points out Saturday evening.

Glad to see Lawson have a decent finish, if he can do that a few more times this year he might salvage his F1 career because Hadjar is starting to look like the real deal. Starting to think that second Redbull seat isn’t much of a step up from RB. 😆

So Max picked up 3 penalty points yesterday, giving him 11 in the last 12 months. 1 more and he misses a race, 2 points come off June 30th.

That is truly unfortunate, this was no ordinary racing incident and shouldn't have been treated as such, it was deliberate and calculated.

Recall 1997, very similar to what Michael Schumacher did...got banned/disqualified for whole season, why is Max different? He has got away with a lot since 2021 against Lewis and others.

The stewards must come forth and explain their rationale.

Those would have to be the two that make the most sense.
To go way out on a limb maybe Hyundai? They are currently working on a car for IMSA/WEC under the Genesis banner.
No way BMW is going back into F1 anytime in the next few years. And if they were, it would not be with an outsider like Otmar Szafnauer.

Never been there huh?

Sure, it's not accessible like a NASCAR or Molson Indy race but there is nothing like being in Monte Carlo for this event. But you better be a guest... because otherwise very few people I know could afford the classic Monte Carlo race weekend.

Yeah, not so good.

But OTOH, thanks for referring me to the calendar! I'm going to book Madrid for next Sept. Been to Barca and Monaco enough and LOVE Spain. LOVE Europe but NEVER go in the summer from mid-June to first weekend in Sept. Sept 11 in Madrid will still be stinking hot in the day but I've not been to Madrid in years and loveed it. Side note.... Madrid is a great place for higher class brothel hobbying! 😜

I should see if my Dad's up for a trip to Europe to try and grab an F1.
(He's over at the Montreal one now. )

Freak'in Lando.
I don't know what goes through his head sometimes.
He has 2-3 races were he looks unbeatable, then brain farts(not the first time) like this past weekend.

Lando makes too many mistakes. Overall he is still faster than Oscar, but Oscar is only in his 3rd season, and i feel like he will become WDC before Lando. Norris just crumbles under pressure. Yesterday crash was absolutely dumb and silly and he is lucky not to take out Piastry with him.

Oscar reminds me of Prost more and more every race. Fast and clean, never over drives the car and doesn’t take stupid chances if the car just doesn’t have the speed. Norris threw away easy points by making a dumb mistake and it could cost him the championship at the end of the year. I agree he’ll be champion before Lando, especially if Lando can’t get his emotions in check when he’s behind the wheel.

The Prost comparison is very accurate.

Agreed, I'll have to stop calling Oscar Hot Mess, he and Kimi Antonelli will dominate in F1 racing.

However I find it difficult to watch F1 when Ferrari is not competitive.

yeah... I thought he'd started outgrowing his mistakes and emotional ways this year after finally winning races. he seemed more confident and "together".
But man... WTF was in his mind there?! A 2 point differential between the positions was all he's gain.
