they keep saying that weather is not the same as climate

yet every year, depending on the temperature they keep changing their predictions

last year we had hot summer, they kept crying that the planet was boiling

this year we have cool spring and they are predicting "cooler temperatures"

they even have a “cold blob” (which they call a “warming hole”) ffs.

this AMOC shit is running amok :)

My bad, I forgot who I was posting to here.

The shutdown of the AMOC is related to the rise in global temps, Greenland ice melt is releasing so much water that glacial fresh water is displacing the ocean salt water in the area, creating the cold blob. AMOC shutdown will be one of the major climate change tipping points, from which the planet won't return for thousands of years.

Latest projections are that we are likely to hit 2ºC warming this decade. That means major crop failure, massive climate change and the eventual ocean rise in metres.

Here's the tipping points that will likely follow.

in your first post it says that you expect cooler temperatures over next 5 years

and in this post it says that you expect the temperature to rise by almost 2 degrees over next 5 years

Sigh.

Eastern Canada and Northern Europe will see much cooler weather (3ºC-5ºC colder) if the AMOC shuts down while the overall global temperature of the planet continues to rise. The southern hemisphere would likely rise about the same, 3-5ºC and get wetter while the northern hemisphere gets colder and drier.
That is 'climate change', which is why most scientists use that term instead of 'global warming'.

Anything that goes wrong with the climate its the fault of CO2. The AMOC is a naturally occurring oscillation that has been around long before we were generating CO2. Its gone through some transformational shifts, particularly during the late Pleistocene period (126,000 - 11,700 years ago) which also included the last Ice Age. CO2 at that time was below 300 ppm.

These climate bedwetters will do whatever they have to do to demonize CO2, a mostly naturally occurring gas in the atmosphere that is essential for life.
