I guess when Trump said “it takes two to tango” and our new PM shot back with “Canada is NOT for sale,” that just didn’t scratch your itch for conspiracy, huh? Never mind that Trump, in a rare moment of restraint, didn’t call Carney weak, woke, or a socialist—he actually referred to him as “a great guy” and showed more respect in one press conference than he ever showed Pee Pee, Smith and Justin combined.
But let’s talk about Smith the bitch, the self-styled oil baroness of Alberta, who’s has mistaken governing for auditioning to be Trump's northern envoy. Between flirting with separation referendums which she herself says is against separation, lowering democratic thresholds like it's a clearance sale, and tossing Alberta’s autonomy around like a party favour, she’s not just playing with fire, she’s hoping Trump throws her a bone but he won't, he has no respect for Smith.
And yet, despite all that bootlicking, Carney is the one who stood in the room with Trump, held his ground, and came out earning praise. Even Dougy happily admitted that Carney crushed it. If you read again my posts, you will see that I am saying essentially the same thing as you although you are somewhat delayed in recognizing my predictions.
Carney will do his best, but he is dealing with a capricious POTUS controlling a superpower that wants to carve up Canada and take the most lucrative province, a province run by a more than MAGA friendly premier.
Carney will continue to get pummelled by Smith domestically and Trump externally.
And by the way, PP is now neutered and increasingly irrelevant.
Canada doesn’t have the cards to battle America the superpower , not economically nor militarily.
The only thing that Carney could do would be to encourage a run on the US Treasury by nations that have substantial holdings there namely Japan, China, the UK and to some extent Canada as a buffer against Trump’s on and off tariff games.
Already Trump has back off when the US Treasury recently got rocked a few weeks ago.

Alberta separatists are only about 30% of the population, according to CBC. Though the just changed the laws so you only need 177,000 signatures to hold a referendum.
So there will be a vote but there will also be votes on other more ridiculous ideas as well.
All this will take time and whether trump is still around, Scheer replaces Pee Pee or the US goes fully fascist is just guesses at this point.
I see where you're coming from, but I think you’re overstating both Trump’s intent and Canada’s vulnerability. Yes, the U.S. is a superpower, and yes, Smith’s posture toward MAGA politics is concerning. But that doesn’t mean Trump is in a position—or has the bandwidth—to “carve up” Canada. His admiration for Carney after their meeting suggests even he recognizes a serious counterpart when he sees one.
As for Carney being “pummelled” by Smith—let’s be real. Smith has made herself a very loud domestic critic, but volume doesn’t equal impact. Carney is staying focused and measured, and that contrast is becoming clearer to voters who, for the most part, are proud of his performance yesterday. I even heard right-wingers like Lisa Raitt praising Carney's performance along with Dougy.
I disagree that Pee Pee has been sidelined unless of course, he were to lose the next Bye-election, which is highly unlikely. I suspect going forward we will see a much more easy-going, less attack-dog styled Pee Pee.
