I agree plug ins are a great alternative. But I have one and I will tell you that even with 100KM of range you barely use the gas engine. How often do you drive over 100km in 1 day? Also battery tech is improving rapidly. They have cars that can charge at 600KW that is almost your entire days house usage in 1 min. That means you can add 400km in about 10 min. So while it still takes a bit longer then gas, understand that you will only need to do that on a long drive. Most of the time you will charge at home and not have to waste time at gas stations.
Now live up north. Or in farm country. Or as a contractor. Or sales guy.

Or don't own a house.

Exactly. If everyone owned an EV, where would the people who only have street parking or live in condos or apartment buildings charge them?

Condo charging is an issue I admit. But one that can be solved. As for up north, it no problem. Yes you lose some range on the coldest days but you can still rapid charge. AND EVs will start without a lot of muss and fuss in cold temps. No need to leave your car idling at the restaurant because your engine oil may turn to paste,

How about rental.apt charging, basement apt charging. On street only parking charging. How about cottage charging, camping charging, trailer charging. How about construction site charging.

I can go on and on.

Hybrid is fine. Eliminate ICE. Won't happen.

How is any of that different then a gas car? you go to a nearby charger and recharge. A Chinese bread this year will release an EV with 900 km range with solid state batteries. Already the Kia EV 6 has 580KM of range, Why do you need more then that? Now EV chargers come with storage and solar, so you can just set them up. with no grid connection.

Sure, when the infrastructure is built. But be realistic. Can our grid handle the new loads? The roads the increased weight? How about construction equipment?

I will believe the new ranges when I see them in action, in worst conditions, than the Arizona desert.

Just go to Youtube, lots of people have tested them. AI will have a much larger impact on power then EVs

It doesn't matter how unrealistic. illogical, or economically unfeasible something is, a liberal will strongly champion it.

Uh huh.....I will wait for performance reviews after 5 years of service in Canada hauling 2 kids to various practices, commuting to work and errands, on city roads, with full loads, through all weather.

And by people not being paid to shill.
