I read about an SAS vet who was caned in the 60s. Unfortunately, his account is no longer on the internet. He was found guilty of drunk and disorderly and tussling with the police. The magistrate found him guilty and sentenced him to six whacks. He shrugged it off. How could some little Chinese guy hurt me, an SAS veteran of many fights and skirmishes, even with a cane. When the day came, he was ushered into a room with a rack in the centre replete with the smell of vomit. There was a doctor and a couple of police present. He also noticed a huge Chinese guy and he shuddered. He was strapped onto the rack and bent over. The doctor whispered to him, "Breathe deep." He heard the big guy, who had picked his rattan cane from the wall rack like a pool cue, dip it into a water receptacle and swoosh it in expectation. Swoosh. The first blow hit his butt and he grimaced, as it was the most painful thing he had ever experienced. A second whack caused him to vomit with the interminable pain. The doctor checked him and the third blow was administered. He passed out. He could not recall the remaining blows. When it was finished, the SAS medics came in and took him away on a stretcher. He was treated by the military doctor and placed in a hospital bed for a week. He did not re-offend after that experience.

He is heard to say: ‘Stop please! I’ll say what you need. I will call another drug dealer and he will arrive with drugs’.
The torture was carried out by a militant identified as ‘Olkhon’ in the town of Communar, Donetsk Oblast, in Southern Ukraine.
Olkhon, who comes from the Russian city of Novosibirsk, accuses the man of having a drug dealer’s number on his phone.
He says: ‘Drug dealers and junkies please come here to us, we have a way to deal with people like you. Come to us and we will cure all of you’.
He adds that the man will be slaughtered like a dog.
‘See how he has p****d and s*** himself. He thinks we will have some mercy on him, but we will kill him,’ he says.
The man is reportedly missing and feared dead."

Similar punishment. The SAS member I read about was a Brit, attached to the Hong Kong defence force in the fifties. His account was part of a book on British army activities.
