Gretzky's wife is saying Wayne's upset that Canadians are criticizing him over his friendship with Donald Trump -- who has stated Canada has no right to exist -- and his behaviour at the 4 Nations final, where he emerged from the Team USA dressing room, gave the thumbs-up to the US team, and refused to wear a Team Canada jersey.

The funny thing is even Trump defended Gretzky on this issue, as has Bobby Orr (another Trump supporter), but Gretzky has remained silent like a total coward.

Yes, definitely he walked from the US dressing room when the PA announcer called him, and if he gave any kind of pep talk to Team Canada, I certainly never heard anything about it.

I took the entire episode as a blatant act of passive-aggression towards Canada. How could we not see it as such, and how could he not expect a severe backlash from Canadians about this unless he's monumentally stupid and/or lacking self-awareness?
