Saying he's negotiating for peace while only talking to Putin and insulting Zelensky shows he is backing Russia only.

Why would you bring along someone who has zero power and zero leverage to the negotiating table? Putin and Trump are the main stakeholders in this war. Surely you understand this fundamental truth yes? Zelensky has nothing.

Some very key companies in Donbas were responsible for Russias missile guidance systems. The crown jewels of their strategic deterrence. Allowing these to fall into the hands of the USA was simply out of the question. Also the naval base in Crimea was of very high importance. So they took it. Since then all the critical industries have been moved to Russia proper, which is why Russia was willing to let Minsk happen. But Crimea and its naval base is something they will never give up. Just look at the USA and GITMO.
