This Doge thing is like saying to a fat person "I just got you to lose 50 pounds! It was easy - I just amputated your leg!
BTW, I'm in favour of rooting out silliness. But to cut it without any thought as to what's going on leaves you open to years of lawsuits for breach of contracts.

Eruption In "BleachBit," "Wipe Hard Drive," "Offshore Bank" Searches In DC Suggest Deep State Panic Mode

FRIDAY, FEB 14, 2025 - 07:40 PM

Internet search trends in the Washington, DC, metro area have been nothing short of stunning in recent weeks, reflecting what appears to be growing panic within the federal bureaucracyas President Trump and Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) root out corruption in non-governmental organizations (NGO) and federal agencies.
Earlier this week, internet search trends for "Criminal Defense Lawyer" and "RICO Laws" went viral on X, fueling speculation that Washington's political elites were in panic mode. The searches coincided with DOGE's efforts to neuter USAID's funding of NGOs that propped up a shadow government, as well as begin cutting tens of thousands of workers from various federal agencies.

Now, more suspicious search trends have erupted among DC residents as DOGE efforts went into beast mode at the end of the week.
"Washington DC searches soar for "Swiss bank" (yellow), "offshore bank" (green), "wire money" (red) and "IBAN" (blue)," WikiLeaks wrote on X late Thursday.

Search terms "Wipe" (blue) and "Erase" (red) also moved higher in recent weeks. Wipe hard drives?

Well, yes, the search term "wipe hard drive" across the DC metro has gone absolutely parabolic.

And "BleachBit" too!

Searches for "lawyers" have jumped.

"Statute of limitations" also soared.

Why on Earth would DC residents panic-search keywords that suggest they are trying to cover up a crime?

The accountability sheriff: Trump & DOGE are in town - and the Deep State criminals who have been misappropriating taxpayer funds for years are in panic mode.
Hence this...

Now DOGE's "Big Balls" member, Edward Coristine, now listed as a "senior adviser" at the State Department's Bureau of Diplomatic Technology, should focus efforts on those outbound ACH transfers >$1 million in the past few months...
It would be awful if someone - say Big Balls - audited all the outbound ACH transfers >$1MM in the past month

This article is probably why Musk started looking for stuff to claim Reuters was corruptly receiving money.

The best part was his breathless text mistaking the Reuters news agency from Thompson- Reuters research agency. Then he got the project wrong - it was a project to fund efforts to stop con men and deception, not a project to teach the media to deceive. Finally, the DARPA funded project was approved in 2018...hmm...who was prez, and which party had both houses of congress? Hmmm...
But again, his texts are viral propaganda. Out to stop the agencies investigating him or other ideological opponents. Again, he and the executive have no statutory authority to unilateral cut any spending approved by congress.

Exactly,
The question you always have to ask is whether he really is just lazy and ignorant and doesn't understand any of this or he is just deliberately lying about things figuring the propaganda is worth it because most people won't ever see the correction.

It's more like saying "I'm not going to pay for your junk food and sugary sodas and candy bars. Find your own way to pay for it, fatso."

The Treasury Access Symbol (TAS) is an identification code linking a Treasury payment to a budget line item (standard financial process). In the Federal Government, the TAS field was optional for ~$4.7 Trillion in payments and was often left blank, making traceability almost impossible. As of Saturday, this is now a required field, increasing insight into where money is actually going. Thanks to @USTreasury for the great work. https://tfx.treasury.gov/taxonomy/term/10257

Ya know Clinton cut 300-400,000 govt workers. But how did they do it? Al Gore led a team that analyzed what was going on, how they can modernize, what they could make redundant. Then they took it to the congress - as the congress is the only body that controls the money - and worked the plan and phased these folks out. It was transparent.

So this job cutting was done before, but with intelligence and proper management. What's happening now is destruction followed by viral propaganda that routinely misstates or misleads and has yet to show the fraud or the maths as to what is really happening, done by a guy who has massive conflicts of interest and no statutory power to cut things as he has tried to do.

Again, I'm in favor of cutting whenever possible, but with the Clinton-Gore approach. But that is hard, takes people with brains, and with sensitivities to your fellow citizens. The current approach is lacking indeed.

Moreover, not just China but it is obvious that Trump's whole tariffs crap is now fuelling the growth of the BRICS Alliance and diminishing the influence of the G7 Nations:
From previous interactions, I'm pretty sure you don't understand economics too well and are overly-mesmerized by headlines.

Which of the BRICs countries group is going to buy China's surplus goods?

BRICs is a nice thing for some countries to have membership. Outlining mutual goals and their ability to attain them are fuzzy.

I wouldn't get too excited. If Trump/Musk cut too much or cut critical things, there's no reason Congress can't reinstate them.

You just have to realize we had massive budget blow-outs the last five years. It's time for the Federal govt. to be squeezed for awhile.

Some of the business people here will understand when I say the U.S. govt. agencies have never been subject to zero-based budgeting. Certainly the last five years, they have mostly been given increases on top of the previous year's spending and so on year after year.

I think Canadians have to understand that if the Conservatives take over, this is coming to Ottawa. Does any non-progressive on these pages believe the Trudeau Administration was a good steward of the Canadian govt. budget?

Hate the player (Trump) but don't hate the game (controlling big government).

Like you can comprehend "economics" based on your very partisan POV!!
Latest is that BRICS Nations account for 55% of the World's population and 45% of the GDP.
This is set to expand due to the ridiculous tariffs imposed by the USA on all the Nations.
For a group of economies and populations of such scale to effectively be compelled to decouple from trading with the US will have substantial implications for the US dollar hegemony.
The US itself will need to adjust from loss of markets and loss of supplies. Like BRICS nations, the adjustment is likely to be variable across the complex US economic system. It is reasonable to assume that the US will also adjust for many standard items within 3-5 years, but for some categories of upstream inputs, capital equipment and even some finished goods, it could take up to a decade to find alternatives. Some of this adjustment will simply see Chinese firms expand into non-tariff impacted countries, while the US will also be driven to increase imports from Germany, Republic of Korea and Japan for capital equipment, machinery and electronics. In the first nine months of 2024, China's foreign trade with other BRICS countries reached $648 billion. Core inflation in the US could be impacted by 3-6%. The poorest in the US community will be hardest hit. Retirees and fixed income earners will also be hit by rising healthcare, drugs and utilities costs. Income inequality will worsen. Those promised that the American Dream will be restored are likely to be disappointed, again.
Not sure how your question is framed as it seems to be a riddle. Bilateral trade between India and China touched an all-time high of US$135.98 billion in 2022, while New Delhi’s trade deficit with Beijing crossed the US$100 billion mark for the first time. Despite frosty political relations, bilateral trade is currently steady. The main products that China exported are computers, smart phones, and semiconductors, while India exported iron ore, refined petroleum, and raw aluminium.
The only losers from these Trump Tariff-Freaks will be The USA when it relates to The BRICS Nations!!
