you do not understand the difference between the cost of goods and services vs. the cost of borrowing ?
do you understand the difference between fiscal policy and monetary policy and who determines each ?
i thought you were an educated man ?
My education did not include economics or the social sciences, which you'd previously incorrectly postulated, but even I know enough that I can safely ask, you do realize that rising/high prices is what inflation is, do you not? And please tell us what you think happens to interest rates during inflationary times?

Take your time.

This is good news. Trumps executive orders and attempts to nullify 14th amendments fall into this category as violating federal law. Let's hope AG Bondi really believes her words and will show the same zeal as the various courts have ruled the various EO's illegal.
I hope she doesn't.....LMAO

So convictions don't count? Even though Trump picked the jurors?
Trump didn't pick the jurors. Trump was tried in Manhattan, which was 98% democrat. I don't blame Trump one bit for trying to get revenge on these biased democrat judges. I hope that Pam Bondi does lawfare on the dems this time.....LMAO

Mitch he did. That's what the legal process is. Both sets of attorneys have to agree on each juror. I thought you'd know that. It's shit you learn in high school. The folks who provide the opinions you listen to have been lying to you. Michael Cohen got 3 years in gaol for the same offence. Prosecuted by US Attorneys appointed by Trump.

First of all, Trump shouldn't have been tried for this case in the first place. It was only because Trump was running for president. Judge Merchan should have recused himself from the case as well, due to the fact that his daughter Loren was making millions of dollars working for the Kamala Harris campaign.

Just too repeat. It's revenge time!! Time for Trump to get back at these corrupt dems!!

yes rising / high prices of goods and services is what inflation is
which they did , to the point of making Canadian families struggle
and most certainly prices increased over the past 10 years
housing / shelter is not captured well in the CPI

interest rates generally go up in inflationary periods, provided the central bank adheres to the mandate / policy of maintaining price stability
unfortunately the bank of Canada abandoned price stability by printing money to accommodate Justin the fool's borrowing and actually caused the inflation
and then they waited too long before raising rates

you happened to be fortunate to renew your mortgage prior to rates increasing

interest rate policy is is a trade off between economic growth / employment vs. price stability as higher borrowing costs theoretically dampens demand on discretionary purchases / business investments

given the threat of a tariff war the BofC has / will lower the cost of borrowing, to try to save jobs
if reciprocating tariffs are applied inflation will spike
the BofC will not raise interest rates when Canada is losing jobs
then we will have economic trifecta of misery, negative economic growth, job losses and rising prices , independent of the level of interest rates
The loonie will take a nose dive as well

what you think happens to interest rates during inflationary times?
it depends on the economic environment

the idea behind reciprocating with tariffs is to fight back and ensure the other side feels pain
i get that , you can not allow yourself to be bullied

that said US tariffs on Canada would be primarily inflationary for the US, Canadas pain will be business closures and job loses
reciprocating Canadian Tariffs will be the layering of inflation upon Canadians on top of job losses and business closures
One can make an argument that is not the best response

And tariffs will fix this?
