Trump gave an interview before the ballgame, where he doubled down on annexing Canada.

Trump cannot be trusted. He promised to hold off for 30 days on all tariffs to Canada
Guess we have to blame it on Melania. Maybe she ordered him to sleep in the other bedroom and he woke up on the wrong side of his bed this morning!!

Canadians love socialism to much. It’s like Palestinians loving terror. Unsuitable for adoption.

So here's how it will play out. Trump enjoys delegated power to set retaliatory tariffs IN AN EMERGENCY.

There is no feasible argument that this is an emergency. Any faint pretense of an emergency - and even this was weak - died with the deal for a 30-day extension. So this is an illegal order. No ifs or buts. Clearly illegal. No attempt to paint it as anything but an annexation attempt on a smaller, peaceful neighbour.

Canada goes to Fed Court and obtains an injunction slamming the crazy old fucker down - as has happened in a half-dozen cases so far in the last 3 weeks, as he does weird, illegal, crazy shit again and again.

In a normal political era, this would be impeachment time, as Trump clearly cannot handle his job. But the GOP is a sad gaggle of ball-lickers and doesn't have what it takes.

At what point do the Blue States ramp up and start refusing to implement fed policies and orders? Or start refusing to send their equalization payments?

How far away are we from the Union collapsing? - Not like 1861 and secession, but just a total breakdown of law and order and interaction between the States, the Feds, the administration and the courts?

America does have a debt problem. He's just going about it the wrong way completely.

But Israel is still getting money from America no questions asked.

The most basic point is that the issue of long term trade policy is constitutionally the prerogative of Congress, not the president.

Trump can't simply have Stephen Miller or a 23 year old intern scribble bullshit EO's that claim to re write the US constitution. It's stupid. The judges are already making comments in their judgments that Trump is wasting the courts' time with sad, incompetent nonsense.

He's too old, senile, decrepit and dumb to be president. He should not be there. It's like having a 90 year old in a wheelchair in the Olympic 100 metre sprint event. It would be sad, if it were not so scary.

It appears that there is a loophole for the executive branch to avoid declaring martial law.

Trump/Musk can simply ignore court orders and instruct the Department of Justice to not enforce the court orders. Voila fascism by stealth.

Except that breaks the constitution so fundamentally that it means there are no longer any rules and no one has to follow anything.

The tripartite equal division of power is fundamental to the USA and how it's set up and functions. If you get 2 branches negating a third, it's a MAJOR constitutional crisis.

He's got a very narrow margin in both the House and the Senate and a number of wealthy and powerful Blue States who will seize on the opportunity to tell him to go fuck himself and withhold funds. Once the fundamental rules get broken, then chaos occurs.

True, that is the playbook of fascists. Look at history.

The American Experiment is going to end someday.

I don't think he is allowed to touch Melania. I do wonder if Trudeau banged her. lol. International Relations are part of his job after all. 🫡

The first part of it was to gut the press, that is an essential part of democracy. ...without that, dictatorship can take hold. The Biden admin was worse then a dictatorship. The elected face was pretty much out of it.

Who are mixing up social measures with socialism. By the way, socialized healthcare is present in all developed countries except the US. Are they are socialist country?
