DoFo is the worst, most corrupt politician in Canada.
So much grift and pet projects for his donors.
Frankie I love you like a brother, when you make a mistake I have to call you out on it. The $1 billion to oversee companies is pixie dust. The CPP-IB bought a majority stake in the 407 ETR back in 2019. At the time a Quebec Consortium that included Circle K owned a 33% stake, that was bought by the CPP. With that purchase the CPP now owns 51% of the 407 ETR with two other companies with minority shares. They are both Canadian Companies.

So far Premiere Douglas has ridden on the CPP's coat-tails. If he wants to transfer the 407 to Ontario ownership he'll have to pony up a lot more than a measly $1 billion.

Thanks for that.

But Circle K is also 7/11, isn't it? Or did that takeover not happen?
The same company DoFo met up with before he decided to spend billions on giving them booze contracts?

Are you arguing that the health care system is totally fine under Ford?
The health care system in Ontario, is the same one that's been in place under the liberals, McGuinty/Wynne and I can only assume under Rae, too. One could assume it was under funded then, like you're claiming now, as these things just don't happen overnight. So, you seem to know all the answers here, what would change under an ndp or liberal government? I'm sure they'll convene a few committees to study the problem and they'll come up with some recommendations. But what are they really going to change? It's the same system that the McGuinty/Wynne liberals worked with, with a CEO and a board of Governors overseeing the money and each regional network has the same. They syphon off the money first and then distribute what's left and some highly educated people make their bonuses, by cutting beds, nurses, and other much needed staff, by looking at the data, which shows that they can do with fewer numbers and still get the same results. So, what's really going to change? I'll give you the answer. Nothing. Absolutely nothing is going to change under the ndp or liberals if they got in. So, blather on all you like, because until they change who and how the money is handled, after it leaves the provincial coffers, status quo is what you'll get.

Between April 1, 2023 and March 31, 2024, new data from Ontario Health suggests 378 patients died while waiting for cardiac surgery or a cardiac procedure.

That's misleading, as it doesn't give the full picture.

You quote a number, but that number is only about 1.5% of the total number of surgeries done. It also doesn't show the type of cardiac surgery, as some have always had a higher death rate for those awaiting surgery. Couple all of that with the other pertinent factors, like age and overall health and this number you quote is the same as it has been for many years. Nice try with cherry picking though. This data is much the same as the data in 1994/95, under Bob Rae's NDP, who took over from Petersen's liberals.

DoFo has changed the health care for the worse in multiple ways.
Bill 124 drove nurses out of Ontario and cost the province billions
Hiring contract nurses is more expensive for Ontario but makes his american buddies more cash for them.
Cutting fees for family doctors means 2.5 million people in Ontario don't have family doctors.
Privatizing some services for american owned Shoppers is more expensive for Ontario.
Privatized clinics off the same services for higher fees, making more profit for american investors
Underfunding hospitals and nurses has lead to hospitals going bankrupt and ER's being shut.
LTC deregulation killed seniors during covid.
DoFo has $20 billion in cuts to health care planned.

All of those can be changed.
