First, you have to have evidence that it is DEI that is the reason why the west got DeepDicked by DeepSeek then talk about better hiring practices and whatnot.
They don't need any evidence.
Anything that goes wrong is because of DEI.
And they will repeat and troll over and over again.

Deepseek won a battle in the tech race, it never ends. BUT ask yourself why Russians are such good software developers? Its because during the cold war they did not have access to the fastest CPUs so they had to write clean, efficient code. That is built into their educational system now. Chinese likewise had tyo work around cost and sanctions. There will be many, many ways to skin the AI cat. This is still very early in the game. Nvida makes GPUs for AI who is to say GPU architecture is ideal? Its just the best available now.

The response of ChatGPT to the same question in regards to DeepSeek contains many flaws and incorrect statements... I guess AI are not too enthusiastic to compare themselves.
I was trying to ask DeepSeek and Chatgpt a coding query this morning as I was trying to automate something.
And DeepSeek hung for a good 5 mins before saying "server is busy".
ChatGPT instantly provided me the code.
IDK. My experience with deepseek doesn't seem to align with all the hype.

Probabably the US throttling access to the servers lol

Maybe be a bit skeptical of the hype.
Just as a general rule.
Most of China "tech advancements" usually get exposed in the following days/weeks. There are so many examples of this. Usually done for state media propaganda purposes both domestically and internationally. Deepseek is no different.

Everything. You can hire the best and the brightest, without other considerations, like DEI. If every one of the best and brightest turns out to be a black lesbian, so be it.

Or you can not do that, and watch someone else beat you in the race.
exactly

Why would you do that, if you're trying to win an AI race with China? Why would you shackle yourself by passing over the best and brightest? Seems stupid to me.
well said

passing over the best and brightest is stupid

promote equality of opportunity ( it works) not equality of outcome (it fails)
two additional benefits
1. there are brilliant / outstanding people in both genders and all races, equality of opportunity will uncover hidden gems
2. there is nothing better to shut a raciest up than watching a successful minority person outperform all others.
This should be the holy grail for the left, if they really do want positive social change.
I think they just crave control over others and make a mess of things while trying to gain that control

I don't think this kind of news report is true, it's always something we hear about once, about it being the absolute best, then nothing. In my opinion that's to catch some millionaire's investments.

the other issue is the origin, communist China
i have been told its open architecture , so no where to hide commie friendly algorithms
I am not a tech expert, so OK, i guess
however, the stakes here are very high , and communist China has proven itself to be less than trust worthy

tech experts ???

They have always wanted control, that's a given. But it's more than that. As you said, they want equality of outcome. Decades of affirmative action have failed to achieve this. So now they want to force it.

you are correct
if the push for socialism is not checked, it will lead to totalitarianism
