The US is the best place you can live if you want to maximize your potential. It is set up so talent gets rewarded. That’s why the best talent wants to come here. No offense to everyone but Canada has gone to shit. As bad as America got in the last 4 years, it can’t compare to how bad it got in Canada. EU is even worse. The only other place I would choose besides the US is Japan.
US has had its problems with the recent wokeness agenda and immigration but it is getting fixed. Other countries look to the US as a leader, and they will follow us soon. The problems you face in most other counties are much worse.
You speak with your emotions, not facts. Trump lives in your head 24/7 and you live in Canada. If I thought about Trudeau 24/7, I’d go see a psychiatrist.

I posted Pierre's response in an earlier reply.Give it time, we're always a little behind the US. And Trudeau has left little to be proud of but I still try.

Canadians are a risk averse bunch.
We don't like things that make too many waves.
So I believe we wont decline and go down that route.
Plus the shit show down south may just make us more wary as a society.

Other countries follow the US, because the US is militarily and economically the most powerful.
Socially most countries of the west do not respect the US and consider themselves more civilized.
And the "American Dream" you talk about, where you get to maximize potential etc, is no longer true today.
The best talent doesn't only want to go to the US.
They want to go to developed countries in general as most of this talent is from the 3rd world and they are looking for a better life.
The US was making progress but now with Trump it shall regress.
For people like me Trump is merely a reality TV show from across the border and the only time I am genuinely concerned is if there are going to be economic impacts. (with tariffs for example).
I and many others may speak about Trump a lot, because we are entertained and equally appalled at what is going on.

Socially what do the other western developed counties have on the US. I see Muslim invasions, social media censorship, failing economies, trans female teachers with beards teaching little kids, social unrest over the increased diversity, economic hardship more than the US is facing, constant dependence on the US to help fight a war against big bad Russia. What is it that they have a leg up on the US that makes it so nice to live there. Everytime I come to Toronto, I’m like holy shit what happened to this place.
