"Folks, folks, folks, my $3.2billion 18-month early election bribe that adds an extra $3.2billion to the 2025 budgetary deficit and overall debt load in the forms of loans/monetary notes and ongoing interest costs using my rubes/taxpayers as collateral will balance itself!" - Your favorite charlatan Thuggy Fraud and his go-to bookie Deslizardo
Let me emphasize this again: THIS IS A COMPLETE LIE.

You guys learned from Trudeau to keep repeating a lie until it's excepted as truth. But no, this is a complete lie.

READ READ READ
The Premier said his government is able to pay for the rebates because of higher-than-expected revenues as a result of inflation on provincial sales tax revenues, and the impact of recent changes to the federal government’s capital-gains tax.

You are just repeating and repeating another lie from Thug Fraud quoted above, over and over again hoping that with enough repetition that rubes and hayseeds just like you take it as valid. But NO, Thug Frauds LIE is still a complete and utter lie.

What it really is, is this:

"Folks, folks, folks, my $3.2billion 18-month early election bribe that adds an extra $3.2billion to the 2025 budgetary deficit and overall debt load in the forms of loans/monetary notes and ongoing interest costs using my rubes/taxpayers as collateral will balance itself!" - Your favorite charlatan Huggy Fraud and his go-to bookie Deslizardo

So a quote fact checked from the Global and Mail is full of shit, but a comment from some baised poster on Terb that can barely speak English himself is on the money? :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Like I said, you learned this from Trudeau.

Learn. Learn. Learn To understand the intricacies of the English language.

A quoted statement uttered from Thug Fraud's meaty lips and purdy mouth is SOLEY "fact checked" by the Globe for the authenticity that it did spew forth from Thuggy's meaty lips and purdy mouth. That's it, nothing else, nothing more than that.

"The Premier said his government is able to pay for the rebates because of higher-than-expected revenues as a result of inflation on provincial sales tax revenues, and the impact of recent changes to the federal government’s capital-gains tax."

Where oh where in the above quoted Globe pasted quote does it demonstrate that the Globe fact checked the validity of Thuggy's statement? It doesn't! It just reported Thuggy's statement, that's all it did.

You are just repeating and repeating another unabashed lie from Thug Fraud quoted above, over and over again hoping that with enough repetition that rubes and hayseeds just like you take it as valid. But NO, Thug Frauds LIE is still a complete and utter lie.

Until you show evidence that disproves the fact checked quote (which you won't and can't) just give up.

I told you before, hire a tutor with that $200 rebate.

It just reported Thuggy's statement, that's all it did.

It is not a fact checked quote.

It's just a statement by Thuggy reported by the Globe, lies and all.

There is no mainstream public outlet saying it is a false claim.

Not only that, they explain the money came from revenue increases from capital gains tax and inflation.

So if the Globe, CBC and CTV have not said this is false, Why should I believe only your word with nothing else backing it up?

No it won’t.

1. Most of the time, money like this is except from being considered income

2. $200 is truly not enough to effect someone. Maybe if it was monthly, but not a one time payment.
1. Good to hear

2.
True story. There are many seniors that are eligible for the Ontario Seniors Dental program. It's very low income-based and it's a REALLY great program which includes Translators and even transportation if required. MUCH better than the Federal version. The problem was when The Dauphin sent the COVID special payment to single & couple Seniors bumping many of them off the OSDP. No fillings, no crowns, no bridges, no nothing. They ALL would have preferred their 'free' dental. It was quite the shit show for awhile. Money is great but how does it impact down the line. Hence, the question.

Eligibility for the OSDP.
  • meet the income requirements:
    • an annual net income of $25,000 or less for a single senior
    • a combined annual net income of $41,500 or less for a couple

Seniors should not have been getting any money from COVID as far as CERB or ODSP. ODSP stops at 65. That is when OAS starts. There is a transition.

I don’t know about dental program but I can see it being an accidental oversight that will be or was corrected. Although I haven’t found anything to support that seniors were denied the dental program because of the speciality payment.

Edit: So I did some more research and here is the breakdown elgiblity for the Ontario Dental Seniors Program.

  • Be 65 years of age or older.
  • Have an annual income of less than $ 22,200 for a single person or a combined annual net income of $37,100 per couple.
  • Have no access to dental benefits (e.g., through private insurance or other government programs

So seniors on OAS and CPP may not qualify and those who get GIS as well will probably not qualify. Which is an issue with the program and it needs to be overhauled.

But I found nothing about the speciality payment.

"Seniors should not have been getting any money from COVID as far as CERB or ODSP. ODSP stops at 65. That is when OAS starts. There is a transition."
Agreed. It's years later but CERB and the like was to help with your income being impacted by job losses and lowered economic activity. There was no impact to seniors income during COVID and thus Trudeau's $$ give away was purely for political votes, not to help seniors.

"down eligibility for the Ontario Dental Seniors Program"
I think you have an out of date version. I had included the $ to the latest version in my original post that has higher, likely inflation-adjusted $ as it's now $25K.

"Although I haven’t found anything to support that seniors were denied the dental program because of the specialty payment."
No, you wouldn't. It's not like it was news worthy during COVID. In this case, I have to refer to the old standby, "I know a guy...". However, as you can do the math, the probability is high that I'm describing the truth.

"Which is an issue with the program and it needs to be overhauled."
It's an issue with all income-tested benefits. You go over the income, you don't get the benefit. At a high level, this is a good thing. It means more funding for those who really need it and less for those that marginally do not. There's always a line drawn somewhere.

"But I found nothing about the specialty payment."
I included the link to the information about the additional specialty payment in my response. Are we talking the same thing or do you not click on links?

1) You made the original claim that the Globe and Mail fact checked the details of Thuggy's false statement and verified it as factual.
2) The above claim has proven to be false as you have not provided an iota, a scintilla or a nano particle of evidence to support your false claim.
3) You have only managed to deflect, shift the burden and move the goal posts in abject futility masquerading as legitimate reply.

So, since firmly establishing ineptitude and charlatanism on your part of this discussion I will offer you a link where you can discover for yourself that the $3.2billion 18-month early election bribe of taxpayers is financed by deficit spending. Basically, using taxpayers as collateral to add $3.2billion in debt, which must be financed, ie. paid interest on, to the mammoth debt load that they already bear.

So, for your viewing, perusing and hopefully your understanding thereof, here is the 2024 Ontario Gov't Fall Statement: Fiscal Plan and Outlook. Enjoy!

Literally the first paragraph from the section you posted.

Key Changes in 2024–25 Since the 2024 Budget

Ontario’s 2024–25 deficit is projected to be $6.6 billion — an improvement of $3.2 billion from the outlook published in the 2024 Budget. This reflects updated economic and revenue information and higher contingencies to mitigate near-term risks.
Excuse my language, but are you ******* ********?

I knew you would fall into the trap I laid for you!

An improvement of revenue projection which still leads to a $3.4 billion deficit!

And then an additional Thuggy endorsed $3.2billion added to the deficit for an 18-month early election bribery scheme using downtrodden taxpayers as collateral and financed, interest payments, by said overburdened taxpayers.

Total projected deficit for the 2024-2025 fiscal budget year of $6.37 billion instead of $3.4 billion if not for Thuggy's corruption.

That's $3.2billion more in deficit spending than would have not been needed if not for a corrupted Premier.

I have spent way too much time on someone who does NOT understand what a fact checked statement actually is NOR someone who is pretty well absolutely clueless regarding budgets.

Sayanora.

Adios.

What a waste of time and effort!

Total projected deficit for the 2024-2025 fiscal budget year of $6.9billion instead of $3.7billion if not for Thuggy's corruption.
