I have learned many interesting quotes playing Civ 6. Here are some:

"I don't believe in astrology; I'm a Sagittarius and we're skeptical."
-- Arthur C. Clarke

"If God had really intended men to fly, He'd make it easier to get to the airport."
-- George Winters

"Sports do not build character. They reveal it."
-- Heywood Broun

# Civ 7 will be out next month

Only in modern times. Using our current beliefs to judge historical figures, their thoughts, and actions are just dumb.
Do you consider someone who lived (nearly) his entire life in
the 20th century to be an ancient figure whose character must
not be judged according to modern values?

It's 2025. You are REALLY going to argue attitudes on religion haven't significantly changed in the last 30 years? Really? That's what you're going to do? :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Don't know attitude on religion has changed to the degree C.S. Lewis's legacy
of rendering Christian shithood more palpable has become irrelevant.

In my college years Lewis's writing was evangelicals' favored tool to
proselytize skeptics. And as recent as 2009 C.S. Lewis the evangelist
was celebrated in the 50th anniversay of Christianity Today. Attitudes
on the Christian religion have never been static. But I wonder if Lewis
would roll over in grave were his thoughts no longer relevant to evangelists today.

"And yet it moves"

Galileo Galilei, persecuted by the Church for his visionary discoveries, said this sentence after he was convicted. He insisted that the Earth is neither standing still nor at the center of the universe.
