Does it? I mean, women have been firefighters for a few decades. Have you heard anything about them being deficient?
Yeah their physical requirements scores are deficient compared to men's. If you don't think that translates into job performance where physicality is crucial, this discussions is pointless.
Have you heard about them failing to rescue people?
Frankly, I've never seen a female firefighter haul an adult out of any burning building. This stuff is reserved for male firefighters for obvious reasons.
Are there important roles for female firefighters? Absolutely. But carrying people to safety from fires isn't one of them.
Like, seriously. Don't you think if this was the case, their male counterparts would be screaming from the rooftops about this?
They did when it was introduced.
What's the point in male counterparts screaming about something everyone already knows? There's no incentive to tell you that the sky is blue if it means getting fired.
The men pick up the slack.
Do you scream from the rooftop at your wife when she asks you to open a jar for her because you have the strength that she doesn't?
No, you just do it knowing that it's your job to assist. It is what it is.
If men fail to qualify, perhaps they should do what this guy did and identify as a woman to qualify under easier requirements:
The candidate, known as David L Y, initially failed to pass the exam as a man. But shortly after receiving the news, it has been claimed the firefighter announced they were changing gender.

I'm certain this would be perfectly fine with you.
