Carney takes away PeePee's attacks, from expertise to being career politician to not understanding the economy.
Its early yet, but getting on the Daily Show puts him way out front and he did a great job of appearing non politician like, smart and informed.
All areas that PeePee fails.
With the previous process at $70,000, can you think of any other reason?

Buddy, $350k is no barrier to anyone who cares to run and has a little backing and creds.
