Los Angeles Is Another DEI Catastrophe

Completely unacceptable. Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass FREEZES when asked why she cut $20 million in funding to fire fighters, or why she was vacationing in Africa instead of managing the disaster. This is the look of someone utterly unfit for the enormity of her position. Rick Caruso should run it back. If there are fair elections, he'd win.
A black female mayor was elected. By a majority of the people.

Remember when Trump suggested that better forest management be implemented to clear dead vegetation build-up from forest floors...yeah I'm sure some LA residents staring at the ashes of their homes remember too.
So what you're saying is that there are no competent black people?
You think $17 million couldn't have gone to improve infrastructure?
The "readiness plans" were just Democrat talking points as evident that they were not actually prepared.
It's not a point about sexual orientation...the point is they focused more on DEI than actually focusing on preventative measures. Again as evident by them still being at 0% containment. That clearly shows they were not prepared.
They spent $400 million on "greening " their port. Yet they couldn't invest in proper hydraulic infrastructure systems to pump water at different elevations????
You need to prove all that.
You need to prove that this 17M was exactly what was needed to prevent the wildfire.
You need to prove that there were no readiness plans with the LAFD.
You need to prove they didn't focus on preventative measures or readiness plans at all and were caught off guard.
There could be multiple engineering or logistics issues and fit for purpose issues with these fire infrastucture systems you are proposing. You need to prove that they are infact fit for purpose and that there was a deliberate negligence.
If not all of this just amounts to stringing unrelated things together to push an agenda.
So DEI should work like this.
Let’s tap the best to apply for our jobs, and make sure we pick from a diverse pool. Black, white, Asian, women, men, everyone.
In reality in California it works like this.
Make sure you pick only lgbtq, and not white. If you can stack multiple minority traits, even better. Do they meet minimum standards? Great, they’re hired.
In your personal life, where have you even seen people that look like the fire chief and the rest of the cronies they showed in Los Angeles. You can only find them by actively looking hard for them. I doubt they were the best suited for the job. Clearly they weren’t based on how it’s going.

There is NO STOPPING or preventing a firestorm of chapparel being driven by 70 mph winds. Nothing could stop it. NOTHING can put out a forest fire. It can only run out of fuel. You can bulldoze fire breaks ahead of the fire and hope the fire doesn't jump it. But even 30 mph winds turbocharge the fire and spew white hot embers miles downwind. The Kelowna fire 2 years ago jumped Lake Okanagan ffs.
Cal Fire is the most experienced, well run and equipped wildfire agency in the world. And they happen to have to fight fires that have, and will occur naturally forever.

No it doesn't work like that.
If there are 100 jobs, they will want a good mix of people, so they may earmark a certain % of jobs for minorities.
They will then look for BIPOC or LGBTQ+ people.
But they will go through the same interview process that caucasians will.
Whoever qualifies will get the job.
What they don't do is drop the recruitment standard or cutoff.
Karen Bass is hardly a DEI hire.
She served in the California State Assembly for 6 years including as speaker and in the US house of reps for 11 years before becoming mayor.
