What a tragedy, these fires keep happening in California.
They have happened for a long, long time.

The key is to determine the causes beyond just blaming the climate. Then drive and push towards implementing prevention methods.

I say drive and push because praying at the altar of the high priests of the environment isn't going to practically help.

I dont think the cut is major considering the budget.
She cut it from 837M to 820M.
I dont think that would have severely limited their preventative efforts if at all there were any.
Maybe maybe not but it is the fire department jurisdiction to have fire outbreak preparations... the shit rolls from the top. whoever is at the top mandates what the county, the state needs to focus on or channeling the budget on.... this is why whoever is running Cali is to blame... the liberals can claim "politicizing", no....it could be a republican running this and not prepare and you will hear me say the same thing...has nothing to do with politics....it's whoever is at the top and not being prepared for this...they didn't learn from Hawaii.

Considering wildfires are a frequent occurence, and have been for many years I think the fire departments already have procedures in place to handle these things.
I dont think a tiny budget cut is going to affect their readiness.
So it is being politicized.

I mentioned his MAGA loyalties because he denies climate change and yet is now affected by it.
I personally think your post is bitter and vindictive simply because Woods is a Trump supporter.

The California fires are a far more complex issue than climate change. People on both the Left and Right project simple ideas and solutions on to the world and possibly both are wrong.

If you think that climate change is the cause of California's fires, that's your prerogative. I believe that almost quadrupling the population of the Southern California desert since 1950 has increased the risks. That's not even mentioning the tremendous drain on aquifers.

common occurence? cutting budget does affect their readiness. LoL. Blaming the guy running Cali is simply that - blaming the guy who's in charge...

If you are making that claim then you have to show how exactly it affected their readiness.
I dont believe a 2% cut is going to affect their readiness when fighting wildfires is a huge part of the LAFD's mandate, and has been for many, many years.

Ahem... and rain.

Or is the Orange-u-tan suggesting that "nobody" knew about the Pacific Palisades fire and that's why it got away? Fucking moron should keep his pie hole shut when he knows nothing about what he's talking about. People might think he's, well, a moron! 🤣
I agree, but I also think Newsom is a douche when it comes to not implementing necessary preventative practices that the environmental lobby disdains.

Focusing on climate change is obviously not helping anything in the near-term. In fact, it's merely using the fires to promote a green agenda.

I was just at the bank and overheard a customer talking to the teller, saying how a friend of his in LA just lost his whole house last night. Totally gone.

I remarked with "And Americans say, how can you live in Canada? It's so cold." I may have to put on an extra layer but my total existence is not devastated.

The guy replied, "I'd rather have the warmer weather." I just walked away. Fucking moron. His family could all be dead but he'd prefer warm weather.
He's the fucking moron in this story? 🤔

Reminds me of the old Jerry Seinfeld joke. If the black box is the only thing that survives a plane crash, why don't they make the plane out of the stuff they use for the black box.
Lol. I was thinking about that joke as I read the thread.

I'm betting that this a newer structure that has a different material roof that is more fire resistant.
Off the top of my head, it seems like L.A. has a lot of residences with stucco. Even if the stucco composite can withstand fire, I'm guessing the underlying support structure will collapse from the incredibly high temperatures. Just a guess.

Crazy Florida is right wing yet they are always hit by Hurricanes. Crazy they have not fixed this.
I'm not sure you thought through this argument. The California progressives like to throw up their hands, blame climate change for fires and say everyone needs to drive an EV by 2035.

Correct me if I am wrong but the fire department steps in after a fire breaks out.
How could any budget prevent a wild fire from ever occurring?
Imo only climate change initiatives could possibly do that.
I don't think you know or care to know California's long history with wildfires.
