My Answer: No.
What I think Canadians will say: The majority will say no to having a referendum. We find becoming a Republic an unnecessary question. So why will Canadians now want to consider merging with one?

My Answer: Because we dont even want to legitimize such things because even the consideration of it will undermine Canadian sovereignty. Maybe a little authoritarian to say that but acceptable imo when it comes to matters of statehood.
