Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is holding a news conference on Monday as questions swirl about his political future.

Trudeau will speak at 10:45 a.m. at Rideau Cottage, a news release from the Prime Minister's Office said.

The prime minister's news conference comes as an increasing number of Liberal MPs are publicly calling on him to resign as leader of the Liberal Party.

Along with at least two dozen individual MPs, several regional caucuses — including Atlantic Canada, Quebec and Ontario — have called for him to step down.

He should've called for the election and let the people decide and give himself a chance even if it was low...and take the loss like a man...stepping down, I just don't see it in him to do this.

He's got a huge ego, he may not step down. But the we have to spend millions for elections.

Worst PM I've had to endure

It's not even close tbh. Mulroney/Chretien/Martin/Harper had their drawbacks but they were serious men. Trudeau has been a performative clown

Tone deaf and overly earnest and not bright enough for the job. Not up to the job. Any other last name and he would've been a drama teacher for life

Who will be the Liberal front runner? Freeland? Gould? Joly? I have a feeling it's 1 one of those 3.

Prorogued until March 24.
Then the campaigning starts.

He leaves a solid record, some new social programs, good leadership through the pandemic but problems with immigration and debt.
The libs will have to run against conservative disinformation but against a career politician who has achieved nothing in 20 years in office.
First step is to make getting security clearance a prerequisite to running for PM.
