They were less than 10 yards away from a field goal to send it to overtime and they'd have had the momentum. One play with 30 seconds plus a timeout to work with is totally amateurish.

Bears fans can always watch games from 1985. That defence was clearly superior than any other in NFL history. They crushed every offence. They never had a chance. Better than the steel curtain and better than the Ray Lewis Ravens
Ya that Bears D was legendary. Particularly the line which boasted I believe 3 future HOF'ers. Of course you can't forget the field general MLB Singletary, one of the best ever.

Sunday slate best bets.

Bills minus 6.5 vs. 49'ers. 49'ers are without OL Trent Williams and DE Nick Bosa and possibly QB Brock Purdy. I see no way how they can keep this game close, unless the Bills beat themselves. Will be old and snowy at Orchard Park as well.

Rams minus 2.5 @ Saints. I can't understand this line at all. I get that the Rams are not good at LB but they have more than enough weapons offensively to win this game. The Saints are deficient in so many areas. Perhaps the line is closer due to the Saints winning the past two games, including week 11 35-14 bashing of the Browns.

Colts minus 2.5 @ Patriots. The Colts are 5-7 but have only lost one bad game to the Jaguars back in week 5. All their other losses - Houston x2, Minnesota, Detroit, GB, Buffalo are against teams with impressive winning records. In all but one of those games (Detroit) they were in it. I cannot see how they could lose to the Patriots if they stick to pounding the rock with Jonathan Taylor and mixing in some play action. It also looks like Michael Pittman Jr. is finally healthy so that gives them the key receiving weapon they've been missing.

Something I saw in the Bengals-Steelers game today I don't remember seeing before. One team had 3 penalties called on them in the same play. Offside, holding, and defensive pass interference called against the Steelers on the same play.

Week 16 best bets.

I think its a pretty tough betting week but these ones stand out for me

Cardinals -5 @ Panthers. The Cardinals strike me as a Jekyll and Hyde team. They are more impressive at home than on the road. But I like them in this spot because they have success when they can run the ball. And the Panthers rush D is one of the worst in the league. Bryce Young showed some signs of improvement but he reverted back to pumpkin status with a poor start against the Cowboys last week. Cards just need to look at that game film and try to get as much pressure on Young that they can.

Jaguars +2 @ Raiders. Both teams have sucked all year. They are playing for nothing. But at least the Jags have shown some sense of life in recent weeks. The Raiders have been flat. Their best defensive player is on IR. They have no running game whatsoever. The only thing they do have to exploit is rookie TE Brock Bowers. The Jags suck covering TE. But they have the advantage in every other aspect of this matchup. They should win outright.

Bengals -9.5 vs. Browns. Browns are starting Dorian Thompson-Robinson at QB. That kills their chances of sustaining any drives. Even against a pitiful Bengals D. The Bengals offense on the other hand has been in high gear for most of the season and they should be able to run and pass all over a Browns D that will be gassed from being on the field so much. This one could get ugly.

Interesting stat mentioned on one of Saturday's NFL broadcasts.
In the NFL this season there are 4 teams that have not scored 31 points or more in a game during the regular season. They are:
Las Vegas Raiders 2-12
New York Giants 2-12
New England Patriots 3-11
Kansas City Chiefs 14-1
Which one of these is different than the others?

I didn't think I would be saying this during the 2024 regular season, but the Bengals defence won them a game. That and a brutal Browns offence.

Interesting stat 1:
2024 record in games decided by one score or less:
K.C. 11-0.
Cincinnati 2-7.

Interesting stat 2:
The Bengals have lost 6 games this year in which they have scored 25 or more points. That ties an NFL record.

Interesting stat 3:
Ja'mar Chase is currently leading the league in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving TDs. If he wins this so called "triple crown" of receiving, he will be only the 5th player to do so since 1966.

Christmas Day musical acts Beyonce and Mariah Carey for both games. Are they just showing these 2 beautiful divas on NETFLIX? Or will CTV/TSN also show the musical performances today as well?

I won some $$ on KC yesterday. Mahomes played great, their offense is starting to pick it up. Just need to get the running game going. To me they are the clear favorites in the AFC.

The 2nd game yesterday was a dud. Looks like HOU would have rather stayed home and ate turkey. They failed to show up and BAL ripped them to shreds. BAL defense has been sneakingly getting better the past few weeks.

Tonight its SEA @ CHI. Could care less. Won't bet it and won't watch it. it will likely be a snoozefest.

With the Chiefs win yesterday they become the first NFL franchise in history to win a game on 6 different days of the week. The only day they haven't won a game is Tuesday.

The Chiefs are an awesome team. They'll probably win there 3rd super bowl in a row. Unless the Bills can somehow upset the Chiefs in the AFC playoffs??

I hate to say it mitch, but I have to pick the Chiefs as the favourite. The Chiefs are not only a great team(skill and coaching), but they've got plenty of horeshoes up their ass this year. The Bills can be a wild ride with exciting highs and frustrating lows. The Ravens look like they are putting it together at the right time. Steelers may be sinking
On the other side I think the Eagles will make it to the SB.
My brain says: #1 Chiefs #2 Eagles #3 Ravens/ Bills.
My heart says: #1 Bengals(we're still on life support) #2 Bills #3 Lions.

If the Bengals had a decent defense they would be in the mix. Burrow and Chase have been so good this year. And Chase Brown has been quite the revelation.
The Bills are sort of in the same boat, albeit they do have a better D. It just hasn't been playing well enough. Definitely they have been missing Milano and recently safety Taylor Rapp. But an inconsistent pass rush as well.
My heart is Bills I really want to see Josh Allen get a ring.

Bills will never get past the Chiefs or Ravens.
