This is the first year of the 12 team playoff system, which gives a lot more schools a shot at the CFB playoffs and a National title. Which also means a lot $$$$$ for TV networks broadcasting these playoff games. The bowl games are essentially dead, top players were opting out of those games anyway. Don't be surprised if the playoff is increased to 16 teams in a few years....more $$$$$$ for everybody.
Week. 1
Georgia 34 Clemson 3 - Georgia looks National Champ ready, QB Carson Beck is a Heisman candidate and the Bulldogs want revenge for being left off the playoffs last year.
Clemson really struggles on offense and their QB hasn't lived up to his 5 - star rating out of HS.
Ohio St. 52 Akron 6 - The Buckeyes look good with a upgrade at QB with transfer Will Howard from KSU. They also have a freshman elite WR. If the Buckeyes don't beat Mich this year, Ryan Day might be gone.
Akron is a MAC cupcake, but OSU did what you supposed to do against a cupcake.
Texas 52 Colo St. 0 - Texas dominated and Ewers looks like top draft pick at QB, the Longhorns will be hard to beat. Texas plays a diminished Mich in A2 this week, don't be surprised if Texas wins by double digits.
Notre Dame 23 Texas A&M 13 - Both teams have good defenses, but ND's is better. ND lacks weapons on offense, but they should make the 12 team playoff, because of their easy schedule.
Miami 41 Fla. 17 - Miami looks good with new transfer QB Cam Ward, The U is back...maybe, they should win the ACC. Florida is still a work in progress.
Michigan 30 Fresno St 10 - Go Blue...Hail to the Victors! National Champs have lost a LOT of talent to the NFL and it showed. The defense is the strength of the team, but they will struggle scoring against good teams, 3 or 4 loses and missed playoff is very possible.
Alabama 63 W. Ky 0 - Roll Tide and Bama rolled all over the Hilltoppers, Bama like Georgia is Championship ready.
Other teams to watch: Penn St, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Oregon, USC, Utah, Arizona, Oklahoma, Missouri, Kansas St, Oklahoma St.
Teams that might surprise: North Carolina St. Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, Georgia Tech, Washington, Rutgers, Louisville, Auburn, Kentucky, LSU, SMU.
