Flying Drones Safely in Toronto’s Downtown Area

If you’re planning to fly your drone in the downtown area of Toronto, you need to be extra careful and responsible. Flying in a densely populated area like downtown Toronto poses many challenges and risks for drone pilots, such as potential collisions with other aircraft or buildings, interference with radio signals or GPS navigation, or privacy complaints from residents or businesses. To fly your drone safely and legally in downtown Toronto, you need to follow all local laws and regulations. You will need an advanced RPAS operator certificate to operate in downtown Toronto, as it is considered controlled airspace. You will also need airspace authorization from NAV CANADA before you fly your drone there. You can request airspace authorization by using the Nav Drone app, which allows advanced drone pilots to request authorization to operate in controlled airspace. You will also need permission from the property owner if you want to take off or land your drone on private property.

If you’re flying for work, you may need a film permit particularly if you’re operating off of City of Toronto property. You should also respect the privacy rights of others when flying your drone, and avoid capturing or sharing any images or videos of people without their consent. When flying in downtown Toronto, it is best to choose a location that is safe and legal. Always be sure to have property owner’s permission, airspace authorization, and remain a safe distance from bystanders. You should also avoid flying near critical infrastructures, such as power plants, bridges, or government buildings, as they may have additional security measures or restrictions.

Youtube is blowing up with all sorts of videos on the topic. It's like the Rapture is going to happen very soon because of all of the UFO sightings...they'll say it is a mass abduction.
The drones themselves sound very wierd, almost like they are reversed engineered alien spaceships running a Deep State operation. Already one airport in New York was shut down because they were a flight risk.
It doesn't make any sense from a domestic military perspective to test things like that so close to the public.

Other people have taken drones near those drones to have seen their batteries wipe out.

I would not be shocked if they start flying over Toronto because it doesn't seem like they follow any rules as to where they fly or appear at, nobody knows what they are, and nobody can control them. It does sound curious and intriguing. I don't know how I would react if they started coming to my neighbourhood. Maybe it will make my day for all I know.

The drones are shooting projectiles into the ground and can send out gasses. There is instructions not to approach them, given by the FBI to the Fire Department and to stay 300 feet away from them until the bomb squad arrives. Do you still think they are not a threat? How long until they start going over Toronto too?

They already are. Go check youtube, twitter, and tiktok.
There's lots of videos of them flying over Southern Ontario.
I've been on the lookout, but so far I haven't seen any yet myself

People are freaking out but Amazon and other companies have been trialing drone delivery of merchandise for quite a while. Welcome to the nightmare.

I honestly couldn't care less at this point. If they really are Aliens then they should hurry the fuck up and get on with whatever machinations they have for us but since it is almost certainly human in nature when ever is controlling them can go die in a fire as far as I'm concerned

"Officials from the F.B.I., Defense Department and Department of Homeland Security said they were taking the sightings, and the concerns they have stirred, seriously, deploying advanced radar systems to hunt for foreign reconnaissance drones and scouring records for secret U.S. government programs.

But of the more than 5,000 tips they had received about drone sightings in recent weeks, only 100 required further examination, John Kirby, the National Security Council spokesman, said on Monday.

Most were fixed-wing, piloted aircraft that were taking off or landing at major airports, officials said. Others were smaller planes, and some were hobbyist drones."
Things are blown out of proportion by social media posts.
"As experts and officials tried to calm concerns, President-elect Donald J. Trump continued to stir people up. Speaking at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, Mr. Trump said on Monday that he was canceling a trip to his property in Bedminster, N.J., because drones had been spotted there.

“The government knows what is happening,” he said.

Mr. Trump asserted, without evidence, that the military knew where the drones “took off from.” As president-elect, Mr. Trump receives intelligence briefings, but he did not say whether he had received one about the incidents.

In a social media post on Friday, Mr. Trump suggested that the drones should be shot down, an appeal he has made in the past. Experts and government officials say shooting into the air is a bad idea, potentially endangering the public, especially in densely populated parts of the East Coast.

“If people willy-nilly take these things down, it could cause more harm than good,” said James McDanolds, a drone expert who teaches at the Sonoran Desert Institute."

The government knows who is flying the drones, a permit is required for night flights for the past two year and there are regulations as to how close the drones can be flown from airports, and military bases.
The government and military do not want to say what is going on at this time or perhaps ever for whatever reasons .

Trump is right in saying that the government knows where the drones came from. If the drones continue to fly after Trump is sworn in, then perhaps he can explain unless the information remains classified.

You'd think after 9/11, they'd take these things a little more seriously, which leads me to believe they know lots about these drones, but are hiding the truth.

5% of the drone situation is based in facts. 95% is the product of a hysterical media feeding the lunatic fringe.
