Mayor Chow Want to Cap Rideshare Licences

It's one thing for Chow to limit the number of rideshare vehicles because they think it contributes to congestion, but it's not her job to be concerned with how much drivers make an hour.

Regarding congestion, a statement provided to CTV Toronto on Tuesday, Uber Canada says, “the number of rideshare drivers on the road is 15% lower than pre-pandemic levels. Only a third of licenced drivers complete a trip on a given day. The City staff report itself says that rideshare only accounts for 4.5% of total traffic citywide.” “The City has spent this year extensively looking at the root causes of traffic in the city and not once was Uber mentioned.”

Uber is a great, affordable alternative to the unreliable TTC. Especially for women who want a safer door-to-door option if they're working late night shift work. Plus the more availability and the lower cost to passengers, the more likely people will choose it over drinking and driving, which is a good thing. It works well, I say don't mess with it.

So the taxpayer money comes from...?
Where is Doug Fraud getting the $3.4billion to bribe taxpayers with their own money for his wholly unlegislated for, unwanted, unneeded and unnecessary planned early election?

Where is your Dear Leader getting $2.4billion to gift to private sector leaseholders on taxpayer's land on the lake?

Where is the Fraudster in the Pink Palace getting up to $1billion to pay off multi-national brewers so that liquor can be unnecessarily sold in convenience stores 1 year earlier than would have been required?

Where does this dolt get all this money from to so brazenly and unnecessarily rip-off Ontario taxpayers just so he can gift it to the private sector? Where Skoob, from whom does your Dear Leader pickpocket this money from?

Nice spin.
Criticizing the government for making policy mistakes is a different statement than saying that the public sector ensures quality of life.
They are both true.
By the way you claimed the private sector funds the public sector.
In 2008, who bailed out and funded your beloved private sector firms?
The public sector did.
Oh the hypocrisy.
Where do you think the public sector gets its money from, besides printing copious amounts of it?

To quote Anbarandy. What does any of the above have to do with capping rideshare licences?

Zero, nothing, nada, nil zilch.

It is always tax payer money that goes both to the government and to the private sector when people buy products or services.
What is so new or insightful about this?
You are not making any sense.
i am making sense , you are not
tax revenue all originates from the private sector

What is so new or insightful about this?
it stunning to see you do not understand that tax revenue all originates from the private sector

and then
The government aka public sector always have to throw a wrench into everything and fuck it up?

The citizenry are not the "private sector".
Private sector is a reference to businesses not under government control.
Not people.

If you're going to jump into a conversation at least leave your conspiracy theories behind so you don't keep looking foolish and respond out of context.

Its tax revenue.
I'm starting to smell your rusty wheels turning...

Keep going...you're almost there...

Tell us again where the government gets its money and then tell us again why you think the private sector was "bailed out" by the government?

OR

Here's an analogy to help you reach enlightenment...

I'm going to force you to pay me money under threat of jail time.
You keep paying me every day.
Then one day, in order to keep the economy stable and help you make ends meet...so that you can continue to pay me while earning a living...I help you by giving you some of that money back.

So tell us again how the private sector should be grateful for the government bailing them out?

Shhhhhh...he thinks that companies make money from the taxes you are forced to pay on their products and services and those taxes add to their bottom line.
Don't go shattering his illusion with facts and common sense!

The citizenry are not the "private sector".
Private sector is a reference to businesses not under government control.
Not people.
79% of the citizens who are employed are employed in the private sector
the private sector pays them and withholds their taxes for delivery to the money pit govt

in a properly functioning world this is % would be closer to 90%

The citizenry are most definitely in the "private sector".

you are so messed up
why can you not understand there is zero, nada, not a single dime of govt revenue or even borrowing ability without the private sector ?

21% of employed Canadians working for Govt is not sustainable
no one , even govt can continuously borrow in perpetuity

you really need to take some high school economics courses
real life differs quite a bit from the imaginary world you believe in

that will make the debt burden crash so much more painful for you
