Since, as you claim, they are refugees they have no country. They have a city, though, Gaza and they held elections and chose Hamas.
If only they had accepted that land that was offered to them in 1948, it would be much different. They would currently have a country of their own. Even if they felt that it was not a fair deal, history shows they should have taken it and they would not currently be refugees. It was because of that decision in 1948 that you are asking this question 76 years later.

You should ask Hamas what they were "expecting" from their killings. As for me, I once again I blame Hamas and Israel for their brutality in their killings as well as bombings of innocent civilians. Israel has the right to defend itself. However, the manner in which they have conducted the bombings of hospitals and general infrastructure has to be also rightfully condemned. The ICC verdict proved it. The most recent one was the targeted air strike of the World Central Kitchen workers that are trying to address the hunger and famine in Gaza. So this organization is now implementing a pause in the Gaza region, meaning that even more civilians will be subjected to famine, hunger and viral infections. With more than 60,000 already dead from it this is sad but you are blaming the victims for living in that region!!
