[Lockdowns, masks, social distancing and vaccines.
Those were the primary reasons.
And you were talking about how you were apprehensive because the vaccine was made so fast.
It was because the research was already available.
research on a new bug was already in place ?
that implies the bug already existed in a laboratory

As i pointed out the product development for an injectable drug is typically 10 years, and the vast majority of that time is meeting the regulatory requirements
Drug development requires muti stage approvals including clinical trials , to ensure public safety.
injectables require a whole other layer of regulatory requirement because of the higher infection risk relative to oral/transdermal/ rectal doses.
the actual research time to create the active ingredient is miniscule relative to the testing regime

are vaccines subject to a less rigorous regulatory requirements ?
if so , then it circles back to the issue it was rushed

You had the choice to take the vaccine or not.
Yes I respect a person's choice to not get a vaccine and I agree that some people online engaged in calling people names for not getting vaccinated.
it was a whole lot more than name calling, some wokesters went ballistic

But in their defence, the world was facing a pandemic that had killed millions.
When people refuse to comply, it adversely affects others as well.
The soviets used similar arguments to control behaviour

all vs a portion

quite different

you conflated the statement to: there was no covid, just a nasty flu bug , which was not my message
and you did this immediately
figure it out
So even if it was a portion, unless it was a major number, it isn't worth pondering over.
If it is worth pondering over, then your statement amounts to saying that the majority of the 1.2M recorded deaths attributed to COVID were actually due to the Flu.
Which then makes it a Flu pandemic.

Research on MRNA vaccines were in place.
They already knew how to formulate an MRNA vaccine if certain details about the bug were known.
So it only took 9 months.
And it went through phase 3 trials as mandated by the FDA.

look
the decrease in 2021 flu deaths sticks out as a very big anomality
it coincided with a huge peak of reported covid deaths
3 million old dudes, dudets pass away every year in the US due to ...old age. a huge opportunity for miss classification to death by covid
how many were mis-classified ? we will never know , could be a small number , it could be very significant, we will never know

there is uncertainty in the covid values
you say it isn't worth pondering over.
again you brush aside uncertainty

you were trying to use precise values to support an argument for classifying something as "misinformation"
quoting precise values i.e. <1% based on stats with unquantified uncertainties is......... "misinformation"
20 odd posts later you still do not recognize the irony

perhaps a honest mistake initially, but one you have recognized when shown the flu death chart and given the huge volume of old age deaths

google search: typical fda timelines for vaccine development

Vaccine development often takes 10-15 years of laboratory research, usually at a company in private industry, but often involves collaboration with researchers at a university.
9 months vs 10-15 years,
so yes it was rushed through the regulatory process and concern was justified

i noticed you failed to comment on

perhaps its best you did not,
not sure i wish to venture down that rabbit hole either

One cannot be classified as dying from Covid, if they died of any other condition.
To die from covid one needs to have been sick with covid and died due to covid complications.
That is how they were classified.
There could be misclassification.
But you are implying that the majority of 1.2M deaths were misclassified.
The misclassification if it existed, although unknown is still negligible.
I go by official figures.
1.2M deaths were 1-1.5% of the total reported COVID cases in the US.
It is the statistic official sources have provided.
PS:
The Flu numbers in the prior year, was 25000 deaths.
In 2020 it was 5000?
So it was merely 20000 misclassified deaths even if you were to use the prior years numbers.

They were not starting from scratch mind you.
We already had the SARS pandemic before this.
That was Sars-Cov1
So the research on the SARS coronavirus, and other types of coronavirus causing cold had existed for decades.
This provides good info:

He keeps sending us money hoping it will change his faith. But he's just giving back our money that he stole.
He could have led a charmed lifestyle devoted his time and money to causes he believed in and been well respected as a caring charitable man.
Instead his ego and last name convinced him (with a lot of persuasion by Gerald Butts) to run for the PMs job
A job he had to know he was not qualified for.

Now his legacy has been cast in stone as a corrupt , untrustworthy fool

]One cannot be classified as dying from Covid, if they died of any other condition.
To die from covid one needs to have been sick with covid and died due to covid complications.
so naive
medical professionals were overwhelmed and shell shocked
its human nature to take the path of least resistance when overwhelmed
need to state a cause of death for 6 people when there are 50 waiting to see you ? ... give me the rubber covid stamp
Factual ? No, Plausible? certainly

That is how they were classified.
There could be misclassification.
not according to your first statement here
One cannot be classified as dying from Covid, if they died of any other condition.
, you contradicted yourself inside of four lines

But you are implying that the majority of 1.2M deaths were misclassified.
not at all
what part of this did you not understand
how many were mis-classified ? we will never know , could be a small number , it could be very significant, we will never know

The misclassification if it existed, although unknown is still negligible.
WTF ???
you just did it again
You can not quantify or qualitatively describe what what you do not know

I suggest you look up the definition of unknown ........ just in case the definition is unknown to you

I go by official figures.
1.2M deaths were 1-1.5% of the total reported COVID cases in the US.
It is the statistic official sources have provided.
this sounds like the "i am taking my ball and going home " statement

saying official does not remove uncertainty
nor does an appeal to authority permit you to ignore facts such as a huge flu death anomaly coincidental with spike in covid deaths or 3 million grandpas / grandmas checking out annually

The Flu numbers in the prior year, was 25000 deaths.
In 2020 it was 5000?
So it was merely 20000 misclassified deaths even if you were to use the prior years numbers.
yeah...... no
going by the numbers you stated in this post
when 4/5 of a metric disappear year over year there is a problem and uncertainty

For every 1 doctor that is "just asking questions", you could come up with 10, that call BS on it.
Or maybe there was more than one doctor, but they just get muted by legacy media. Which is the case, we can go back and forth all day, but I think I know who was right on this one and who got suckered by the TV and fear mongering.

Medical professionals were overwhelmed by the number of cases?. Sure.
But that caused them misclassify Flu deaths as COVID deaths, when a patient was actually sick with COVID? No.
Our clinical processes are sufficiently mature to identify and classify cases accurately for the most part.
Sure, human errors could happen.
But these errors were not significant enough to warrant dismissing official COVID death figures.
You said that the obvious conclusion is that a massive numbers of Flu deaths were misclassified as Covid deaths.
If you did not know, as you claimed here, why claim that your conclusion is "obvious".
You are the one contradicting yourself.
Official figures are reliable.
There were 1.2M covid deaths in the US with any human errors being negligible.
