I don't know what the Arabs have done to get such favorable treatment from Toronto cops, but its pretty fucking sad. They allowed them to set up shop in a predominantly Jewish neighborhood in Toronto but somehow its resident Ezra's presence taking video and pictures that is inciting the mob. Truly appalling double standards.
The cops have a long history of backing down from groups. The more people you have with you, the more you can get away with. The easy path.

They get their donuts no matter how much effort they put into it.

Levant was told by the cops to move away from the Palestinian protesters. He refused to move so the cops arrested him...just like they would have with anyone else.

If Levant had truly wanted to cover the story he could have easily complied with the cops. However, he chose to deliberately get himself arrested to make a political statement- and now we’re all here talking about it so everything seems to be working out exactly like Levant hoped it would...*barf*
Sure he arranged the situation... but it is a bit something when you are not allowed on public sidewalks and although he is a shit disturber and many here don't like his views, he is a journalist. I mean if we are going to judge all journalists based on their bias... what happens when Pierre Poulet gets in.

They're on public property making political statements.

You know that little thing about "free speech" in the Charter of Rights, Kirkie?.... Yuh, THAT little thing....

That's why they get to be public Hamassholes and the cops can't clear them out.
So the protesters who might riot because a Jew is around asking annoying [but probably justified questions considering who he was talking to] have freedom of speech

But Levant doesn't have the right to be on a public side walk and aks questions. so He doesn't have Free Speech. Maybe I was wrong, but he wasn't yelling at them or creating a noise disturbance, honking horns or blocking them.

That double standard... dude, that you worked in Ape Law and you think like that is kinda scary. No wondering our damn dirty ape law is such a mess. I bet proper legal scholars like Dr Zaius would not do that.

He knew he was going to get arrested [and released] but it was wrong for him to even be arrested. Members of an anarcho-syndicalist commune being oppressed by Kings having that position by farcical aquatic ceremonies are not the only type of oppression.

It's disturbing that because of his "activist" journalism and his position he is being shit on.
If this was happening to some left winger annoying some No Seats Max supporters I am sure every maternal fornicator saying "Lock him up" would be clutching their pearls in outrage

And vice versa of course.

He is a Canadian citizen, yes I will agree but he is NO journalist. He is an activist and Rebel News is nonsense and bullshit
Actually, anyone can call themselves a journalist.
You dont need special permission from the government to become one

Levant is allowed to stand wherever he likes. We live in a free country.
Cops dont have the authority to tell people where and where not to stand, unless they are breaking the law, which Levant wasnt.

I hope Rebel sues

So you can't stand in a public place? only where the cops want you to? if you're not hurting anyone you are free to do that... maybe you love fascism after all...

the way i look at this .. is if you reversed things.. so lets just say a bunch of people (and i say this respectfully ) of Jewish religion were in a muslim country like any country in the middle east ... and were protesting you think for one second they would get the same treatment? like being arrested? or do you think they would be stoned to death?

This past Sunday Ezra Levant, founder of the Rebel News media outlet, was arrested for simply exercising his rights as a Canadian citizen and reporter. I love how he calls out the loser cop who thinks that "he's the law".

He did a good job, he was taking pictures of this piece of shit that was doing cosplay of Sinwar. He's from Mississauga Zaid Zeanalabdieen

They will be arrested for sure, and perhaps even stoned to death.

But I like to think we're a little bit better here in Canada than most muslim countries

Ezra is a shit disturber. He LOVED that he got arrested. I can almost guarantee he's sent out a fundraising email to his supporters blaming Trudeau's police state or some other bullshit. He was likely not covering the event, he was probably trying to incite something so he could, once again, send out a fundraising email. That's his scheme. He does stuff that no news organization would ever condone, then makes the story about himself.

Now, the cops might have arrested/removed him to prevent an escalation of violence. If that is the case, I don't really think that's a bad thing. Either way, Ezra got what he wanted.

I just took a look at the Rebel's site. They do not report stories, they make stories. They explicitly talk about trolling people. They put themselves in positions where they act outrageously, then paint themselves as victims when they get removed or arrested. Cry me a fucking river.

He was taken away and released to avoid any possible violence. He wasn't charged with anything but knowing he's a shit disturber, it was the prudent thing to do
If cops had no intention of charging him it then becomes an illegal detainment.

Its under Section 9 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms

I’m out of jail. But I’m back in court. This morning at 9:30 a.m. ET, Trudeau’s hyper-partisan
@ElectionsCan_E
is prosecuting me at the Federal Court of Appeal — my fourth hearing. They claim my bestselling book, The Libranos, published five years ago, was an illegal campaign interference. They’ve put a dozen people and a million dollars into pursuing me. This is the same Elections Canada that refused to investigate Chinese Communist Party interference in 11 different electoral districts in Canada. I’ll be live-tweeting the hearing; I’m pretty sure no so-called civil liberties groups or journalism groups will be there, because they’re too busy asking Trudeau for hand-outs. I mean, they were fine with me being jailed, why would they care about my book being banned? I’ll have one lawyer; Trudeau will have both Justice Department lawyers as well as expensive Bay Street lawyers he’s hired — I predict it will be six against one. But we’re used to being David versus Goliath! Follow along here, and please visit http://TheLibranos.com to learn more, and to help me pay for my lawyer today. (Thanks.)
