It was a ridiculous resolution seeing as it failed to include a call for the hostages to be released. It shows how biased the UN is against Israel if it can't include that small and reasonable demand.

US vetoes UN resolution calling for immediate ceasefire in Gaza

The United States has once again blocked the adoption of a legally binding UN resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

Robert Wood, the deputy US ambassador to the United Nations, vetoed the resolution in the Security Council on Wednesday. All other members of the 15-member body voted in favour.
The text was submitted by all 10 non-permanent members of the UN's most powerful body.

But after weeks of negotiations and changes at the request of the US, there was still disagreement.
The US, a staunch ally of Israel, had demanded unsuccessfully to have the ceasefire linked to the release of hostages still being held by Hamas militants in the Palestinian territory.

Wood defended the US position: "This resolution would have sent a dangerous message to Hamas: there's no need to come back to the negotiating table."
He said it was the Islamist group, not Israel, that was standing in the way of a solution to the conflict.

Of course it was the right thing to do if the return of the hostages is not included. Do you think that is not reasonable?

Instead of saving thousands of pali lives with a successful ceasefire, you support keeping 100 Israeli. Your thirst for bloodshed is unwavering.

This is what happens when one waits for successful negotiations. A unilateral surrender by Hamas requires no negotiations as does a ceasefire, as I told you a year ago. In the meantime, Geno, you keep telling us, according your data, that 22.735 billion gazans have died in that time.

I'll take why I don't give a shit about any resolutions or opinion pieces or what every pronouncements that come from the UN for 200 Alex

Other acceptable answers are
What is the UN placing Iran on the UN Commission on the Status of Women thinking that would be a good idea. Yeah they eventually kicked them off, but how did that happen in the first place.

That it took a US veto to stop this is just special needs.

Only Netanyahu and Biden are extending this US/Israeli war on Arabs and genocide on Palestinians.
