Has he even fought any real boxers? I mean not old UFC fighters, and stuff, etc? I can’t recall.

If he wants to really be a boxer then get in the ring with current real boxers. His age, his weight class.

Honestly I hope, by some miracle, it is a double knock out like Rocky but neither get up and it is called a draw. LOL
He fought Tommy Fury, Tyson Fury's brother and lost.
Tommy himself is just a small time boxer and more of a reality TV star lol.
Paul is in it only to make money.
He has no love for the sport as such.

Can Mike Tyson be considered a "real" boxer at 58 years old? What is his world boxing ranking at this point? Is he involved in any meaningful matches? Or just, take the money and run?

Doesn’t that just prove my point even further about Jake?

I don't get it other than stroking the male macho ego. Why would people want to watch people knocking someone out or, even worse, the silly wrestling entertainment? I just don't get all the excitement about violence, even in a ring and controlled.

I will now dive into my foxhole for cover

Jake Paul to win a boring fight. Tyson lost to journey men Kevin McBride (probably same level as Tommy Fury?) and Danny Williams about 20 years ago and will be worse than 20 years ago. Jake Paul is at least fresher and sharper (5 fights in 2 years) than Tyson. There's probably something in their contracts that they can't KO the other guy within 3 rounds so sponsors and TV get their money worth. Anyway, I'm not staying up to watch it
They may have certainly reached some informal agreement (non-documented in writing) as to holding off on a KO. but I don't think it would be included in the actual contract itself.

That contract would have needed to be reviewed by the Texas Fight Commission in order for the fight to to be sanctioned - and the commission would be all over such a term.

Combat is just engraved into our psyche, almost part of our nature. The Romans built an arena just to watch people fight to the death.

A commentator once said; you could be at a sporting event, if a fight break out in the stands everyone will stop to watch the fight.

At least boxers aren't the bull that got gorged or was that after the Romans :)

The Oracle picks Jake Paul to stop Tyson within the distance.

Paul started boxing 4 years ago...That's it just 4 years in.

He's done marvelously...Great promoter and showman...Reaching an audience that main stream sources wouldn't.

Having this fight on Netflix is genius..The PPV model could be over as we know it.

Paul obviously loves the sport. He puts in the time and as Teddy Atlas said shows the sport respect by training right and doing the work necessary to be a real boxer.

Folks, he's never going to fight anybody ranked...Why should he?...He's a showman and damn good at it.

UFC 100% is coming to Netflix in the future imo.
You are right too that the PPV model is a thing of the past.
No one wants to shell out 100 bucks for a fight card.
They want to pay their subscription and get everything and want to watch it as many times as they want.
