Downtown Toronto is going to be crazy.
Some 45% of avid fans are millennials, people between the ages of 27 and 42, while 23% are baby boomers 57-77 , 21% are Gen Xers age 44-59.

It's amazing how everyone thinks it's Armageddon. Downtown has handled 50,000+ at the Dome, 20,000+ at the ACC, and all the regular traffic numerous times on an average Saturday. Sure before and after Union will be busy. It always is. Restaurants will be standard busy, for an event night.

Just time yourself so you aren't in the immediate area between 5-8 pm and after 11pm and you will have no issues other than the normal ones.

It's a wide audience. People having a good time in a positive atmosphere. Solid 3 hour show from what I understand. Not my personal choice but let them have their fun.
Exactly. Ages range from child to adult. I know kids all the way up to 50s that are going.

Apparently it is an amazing show. Very involved. Music, singing, dancing. Sounds like people attending are going to have a good time.

Metallica had some damn good economists in the band.

They said a long time ago that if you don’t want any good music, just allow everyone to get all the songs for free.

They were right. If you are over 40, think how many cool new tunes there were every month. We used to celebrate it with Top 40 Countdowns. And buy the damn albums.

Taylor took some big risks and it paid off. She damn near has a monopoly on new music and performances.

Someone posted a thread on the top rock and pop bands. Notice how there were no modern ones. Like musicians in their teens and 20s? There used to be endless new bands.

It's quite odd the Tay Swift phenomena is...I remember early 2000s when J Bieber's carrer was taking off...it's mostly the same demographic as Taylor Swift audiences was...but we all know JB's fans are a mix of his music and his attractiveness to the female crowd. Taylor Swift pulls her audience mostly of her music / lyrics... it has good tunes and beat and the lyrics kinda relate to mose of them through heartbreak and failed relationships and how to overcome it... Taylor had the last laugh over Kanye...

taylor has been writting most of her song and music since she was 12. She is an amazing artist.

she wrote songs for many others including miley cyrus. She was the original authof huge hit 'this is what you came for' of Rihanna (but calvin harris finalized and produced it).

Taylor is a giant artist. Maybe not your cup of tea, like for myself, but we need to recognize her unique talent.

Metallica gave their music away for free in their early days which is why they're the biggest hypocrites in the music industry! Lars if a fucking nitwit!

As to new music... there's literal shit tons of great new rock bands. All kinds of new bands in different genres. The difference is the industry isn't controlled by 3 greedy corporations who control what we hear through mainstream radio. Streaming services have it all. I listen to Apple Music's "Discovery" stream to hear new stuff and have found some amazing new bands. I've also discovered a TON of covers of great songs by other artists, OR found songs by old bands (Rolling Stones) I'd never heard before. Turn off Q107 and all other stations if you want to hear GREAT music or discover new bands! I'm heading to shows at the Concert Hall / Bovine Sex Club these days to see bands I'd have never known about if it wasn't for streaming.

Try it out and thank me later. Peace. :)

As to Tay Tay...I gave her a bunch of listens. Not my cuppa. But my 61 year old buddy is a fanatic! So...

So here is a little story.

A person I know just became a swiftie. She has a friend whose son bought 4 tickets in the nose bleed 500 sections. He bought for him, his mom, his GF and his GFs mom. Sweet thing to do.

Anyways, he and GF broke up last week. His mom said let me sell the one ticket at face value to a friend(the person I know) and then sell the other two for however much you can get. So the person I know gets to go for only $175. He sold the other two for $5500 for the pair! I’m the nose bleeds.

I was seeing section A seats going for 12k!!!!

I also know so many indies not working this week in Toronto, Mississauga, Markham and North York because the hotel costs have gone 5x the normal rate.

Okay drive around that area from 3pm-11pm the days she’s in town.
Yeah it’s not like the ppl that, live, work and commute down there are going to have their lives disrupted at all!

Crazy, I just put on CTV news at noon. The Taylor Swift segment started at the top of the hour lasted until 12:17pm. Finally another news story 17 minutes later. LOL

OP, If you’ve been seeing SP’s for any length of time, odds are very high that you’ve met a Taylor Swift fan. As the number of girls on Twitter suggesting that it would be great if a guy bought them tickets would suggest.

I know !! One of my work colleagues is a huge Swifty and she is trying to get tickets and can’t. She has a budget and $2000 is just something she cannot afford.

How is it going to be different than any other event that is sold out?

What is her audience, a bunch of 11year olds? How does she generate this much interest?
Same here, I don't anyone that likes her. I'm so tired of hearing her on the news everywhere, Taylor Swift street please. She's cute but that's it. I think media blew her up.
